Warung Mendez

If you’re local Indonesian, I think the service will be different than foreigners. Will never come back. Better to eat in place can respect everyone, not only tourists.

From the outside it may seem like an ordinary booth, but in reality it was a fabulous experience. Amazing food at a low cost. Run by a group of very friendly girls!

I ordered the Thai red curry with prawns and I received a tiny bowl of curry full of corn and pineapple, and only THREE prawns!
It was so disappointing and way to expensive for the quality and quantity -> 75k!
I would not recommend it.

This is my go-to Warung in this area and it never disappoints! Good people, great flavors, good portions, a lot of options (even for veg.), low prices. I love it!

LOVE this place️
For some reason I always find this amazing place almost empty. GUYS! It’s really worth visiting! Don’t get confused because of simplistic interiors — These tastes are really standing out. Try anything from their Thai menu, it’s so good. Also plenty of delicious vegetarian/vegan options and many authentic Indonesian variations of classic Nasi Goreng etc etc!

For the starter, two main dinner dishes, a juice, and a large Bintang beer, we paid 205k IDR.

Highly recommend the special cold drink which is very spiced and refreshing

The food was good and the staff is nice. However it is not the best Warung we tried in this area but still very good and worth a visit.

The food here is insanely good - very different to the standard Nasi Goreng and Gado Gado fare you'd find at most local places. The meal was absolutely delicious and incredibly reasonable. The only difficulty is choosing what to order on the menu, and perhaps the walk up the hill. A can't miss if you're in Ubud!

Warung Mendez is quietly located outside the main Ubud strip and as such is less expensive that other choices in the area. We had the Tahu & Tempeh Goreng with rice and the Noodle and Rice Goreng dish, of which the name eludes us at the moment.

Portions are very generous and the food is great. The staff are super friendly and smiley as well.

Only down to 4 stars as while we were eating, mosquitoes were feasting on us as well.

I have to unfortunately give this place 3 stars. We waited for our food for maybe 1hr and they brought out the appetizer alone first. Maybe another 15-20mins for the mains. My main was cold as it was likely sitting out for a while. There were no napkins at our table either.

Excelent warung! We had pad Thai, veggie tempura and basil goreng. All perfectly executed in a very clean place. Very nice people, would come back if I had more days in ubud.
