Hanging Gardens Of Bali

Ok this place is not as described. If the pool photos you see on social media excite you, you can always come for lunch and take photos by the pool. These are the problems we ran into:

1. The room smelled like mold. The walls are falling apart and you can tell the place gets a lot of moisture without being Aired out. There is mold in the bathroom, toilet, walls, shower, bed sheets and many walls. My airways got right and I couldn’t breathe. My friend kept checking in his sleep. We could not sleep the first night. It was a horrible experience.

2. They advertise the hotel as an Ubud property but that’s false. The property is 40 minutes from ubud city center so imagine taking a taxi back and fourth every time you need to go do something.

3. The gym is being renovated so that was annoying. We’re both bodybuilders and had to travel 45 minutes to ubud downtown to workout. They never sent a notification informing customers of this closure. In fact, they have the fitness center listed as an amenity

4. Although it’s a retreat place but you’re not allowed to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner in your bathrobe. They have a dress code

5. The breakfast is included but you cannot order to your room. You have to purchase a breakfast package to eat in your room

6. The breakfast museli had sour milk and got me sick. I had a heartburn the whole day and felt sick

7. They claim they offer shuttle service to city center but their shuttle service only operates between 11 AM to 3: 30 PM so it’s absolutely useless. You cannot do morning or night activities in town since the shuttle doesn’t work. They offer taxi service which is a company they work with and they charge astronomical prices. 3 times more than what another taxi service would charge. For example we checked on the Grab app and put Nomad restaurant as our destination and the app said 87,000 IDR. The hotel charged us 231,200 IDR. They basically give the driver the bare minimum and then pocket the rest. Very unreasonable. I attached receipt and screenshot.

Their prices are not well studied and do not make sense at all

We checked the mandapa hotel by ritz Carlton and they charge the same price but provide a better view and an impeccable service. We spoke with hotel management and they gave us a different room which wasn’t too different from the first one and refused to refund the first night although we couldn’t sleep and got sick. They also offered a massage. For $800/night this is definitely NOT with it. Do yourself a favor and stay at the Westin or mandapa. At least those corporations will make sure you’re happy where here they offer you a very lame unreasonable resolution

We only went in for lunch and a drink, so no comments on the hotel proper. Tasty food, delicious mixed drinks (however, all priced accordingly for the hotel's star rating) and tremendous service experience.

We came here for a pool day with their day pass deal.

What a great hotel! The pool area is just out of this world, the pool and set up over the jungle is just crazy.

The service is very attentive, the food at the pool restaurant is very very very good really.

Well deserved 5 stars for this visit.

We stayed there for 4 days. The hotel facilities is very good, place is scenic, however, the F&B quality and service is sadly only worth 1 star rating. On our 1st dinner there, the beef we ordered as Medium rare, came as more than well done.so chewy that you really find it hard to believe that it came out from a 5 star hotel kitchen.

On our 2nd nite, we were encouraged by the F&B staff to sign up for BBQ buffet which he claims include lobster and many seafood and freeflow of wine and cocktail for 1 hour. It is Rp1,000,000.00 per person, and we have 4 couples with us. When we went for the dinner, the lobsters are pathetically small, even the prawn is bigger in size.and after each of us took less than 2-3 pieces, they simply remove the plate and say they run out. The serving of wine was intentionally delayed for 15min even though we order it from the start, the intermittent refilling was slow because somehow the waiters cant see our requests to refill even though there is no more than 5 tables to serve. They also didnt inform us when the timing for the last pour is up. This really missed the mark of a "seafood buffet with freeflow drinks".

All in all, our 5 star experience of this hotel is tainted by the poorly managed F&B experience. We will still give our recommendations to friends if they want to stay there, but a definite eat out if you can advice, so as to keep a good memory of your holiday.

Way over-rated, not what I was expecting during our honey.we have stayed for 4 nights during our stay in the hanging gardens. I am not sure if this is a 5 star hotel, we have booked almost every activity provided mentioned below

1-Romantic Retreat Package 4 Nights stay
2-Romantic Dinner at The World’s Best Swimming Pool
3-Once in A Lifetime Spiritual Romantic Dining Experience
4-Gourmet Picnic by The River

the only one was worth remembering is the dinner in the swimming pool, as for the rest

(Spiritual romantic dinner in the temple and gourmet picnic) were a joke
the food dishes had insects in it and they did not organize the table very well, I have wasted money over not eating the dinner at all due to insects very disgusting, we have visited different hotel locations in UBUD area and they had control over the insects specially during dinner as this is considered a 5 star hotel (Which I highly Doubt) I have made a complain to the general manager and the resolve offered was unjustified.

In Addition, Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner menu were exactly the same so you can imagine eating the same dishes each day with limited options to choose from.

This is an honest review and not sugar-coating anything as for the amount paid during my stay was clearly not met
(Expectation and Value wise)

Also during our check in, the honey moon cake was supplied very late during the day even though they were informed and acknowledge the time of our arrival.other silly things also happened during our stay, the lift that takes you from your room to the lobby kept shutting down from time to time.the hotel was not even fully booked during our stay 50% occupancy which meant that the staff would focus more on the hotel residents but it was the other way around.

Not what I have expected from staying in the hanging gardens at all.

Hanging Gardens is truly one of the best resorts on this planet.

Their award winning "Best pool in the world" is so magical that you cannot remember Bali every time without reflecting on their heavenly double infinity pool hanging in the middle of a jungle and guarded by an ancient temple

This is such a beautiful place to go and enjoy a meal and drinks. The staff are wonderful and friendly. We were not guests of the hotel and so in order to dine at the restaurant there was a minimum 300,000 per person spend. It didn't take long as each of their signature cocktails cost 195,000. The food was delicious and the view is spectacular.

Selain tamu di villa biaya utk satu kali berenangnya 2.500.000 / orang, saya pikir ini terlalu mahal karena banyak tempat yang lebih murah selain disini. Cukup kecewa karena saya harus membatalkan berenang disana, terbayangkan kan kalau ada 5-10 anggota keluarga kita bisa merogoh kocek sampai berapa hanya untuk berenang?

Beautiful, exotic place to visit. The hotel is situated in a nature with a magnificent infinity pool. Top!

Enjoyed being at the gardens! Talk about really taking care of your guests. The staff was extremely helpful and very kind.
The grounds were amazing and photogenic.
Because there is not an overwhelming amount of guests, they really focus on treating their guests properly.
Brunch/Breakfast eats are generous and pool side service is amazing.

Everything was great about this place except for the food, quality of food is average

We loved our stay at hanging gardens. The service was amazing, they were very accommodating and the staff was genuinely kind and friendly. The grounds are beautiful, set into the hillside made it a very zen and peaceful experience. The spa was nice as well, I had the most amazing massage! I highly recommend this resort if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful place outside Ubud.

The pool is epic, rooms are a bit pricey for Bali but you can probably get a day pass to just get some drinks by the swimming pool

It was a heaven like experience. Thank you very much for a good time. I highly recommend people stay here - it is a bit of a drive but it's so worth it!

Everything was over the TOP! Just took only a visit but it was way more worth it, than i expected it to be! Greetings from germany!

The view is priceless and walking down to the river is absolutely stunning! The 3 course meal was good, but the truffle fries that come with the steak were not made from scratch and didn't contain any truffle or truffle oil. All in all, a pricey but relaxing experience.

Epic place if you can avoid the instagrammers but can see why it's the most photographed place on Bali.

Good: view was stunning but thats all to it.
Bad: food was very mediocre for the price. Expected much more from such place.

Lovely hotel, staff were meticulous to your needs, best for couples, food was great, pool absolutely lovely, room second to none.

I have been to many nice resort hotels and this one takes the Cake. Many nice surprises. I am cheap and never spend money like this, but I have to say the stay was well worth it.
