KESUMA Restaurant ulasan
25 A very, very nice little restaurant located in the quiet side streets of Yogya with super friendly service and the best beef rendang I have ever eaten. My companions were also overjoyed with their selection.
Thank you very much and Sampai jumpa lagi!
Perfect end for us in Yogjakarta. We got great and lots of food for €9 each. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. Clear recommendation.
Really cool little spot tucked away in Yogyakarta, delicious Indonesian food in a quite cool spot
After weeks in Indonesia the best meal of my entire trip was made with care and great talent at this incredibly charming "hole in the wall" with a unique and genuine atmosphere that can only be matched by the owner's' lovelyness.find this hidden gem and enjoy!
Wonderful place and great food.
We came for dinner one night and came again the next because we loved it.
Highly recommended for vegans and vegetarians. For the rest too.
Tempe is the best.
Lovely restaurant, people work there very kind and nice. Mostly everything is cooked on the spot to what I believe. Cozy feeling reminds me of home cooked meals
I read glowing reviews about this 'restaurant' and I used the term very loosely. A glorified warung is more likely. The place is in a creepy dark tiny alley without any sign board, and as you walk in with full optimism that it is as good as the reviews, you are presented with small room crowded with 6 tables. Very crowded you cant possibly stand up and walk without bumping at the chairs. The air is hot and sticky. Maybe the owner missed a memo that with yogyakarta's super humid and hot weather, it is not very good idea to have a (so called) fine dining without proper air conditioning or dozens of large fast running fans. Lets not even start about the food. I cook my indonesian cuisine most of the time. I know exactly what it takes to get it right. What they do is so far off the chart it is all wrong spices, wrong herbs in the wrong food, not to mention the crazy expensive prices. The nerve. Needless to say more. We are not coming back. Ever.
What a wonderful place. It was our last evening in Yogyakarta and we went in without reservation and with 7 persons! Although they were full they made room for us and we had the most delicious diner we could wish for. Everything was freshly made from the juices to the bumbus. Thank you so much for your hospitality and the great food!
We had a rating and we give you unanimously 5
What a great find! Kesuma is hidden down a quiet side street and is a small but gorgeous restaurant. It has lovely decor and atmosphere, and has more of a formal restaurant feel than most other eateries, while still retaining that family restaurant feel. We had the spring rolls and beef rendang, and it was some of the best food I've eaten in Java so far. A real hidden gem.
This is for sure the best restaurant I've been during my trip in Indonesia! Dishes are delicious, big portions and reasonable price!
Setiap ke Yogya tidak pernah absen untuk selalu mampir kemari. Rasa tidak usah tanya, pelayanan ramah, yang ke Yogya musti coba!
Delicious! The real Indonesian kitchen at a lovely place. It's very special to have dinner in the garden of this very kind family. Highly recommended! You have to walk into the little street to reach the restaurant.
Not bad at all. Seems a little dodgy to find because it's down a dark alley and all, but once you get there it's a super friendly and casual place. You can sit outside bersidang style or inside on normal tables & chairs. We had the famous kesuma chicken and the rendang that's only available on weekends. It was just OK. But yummy nonetheless. Price is a little on the high side because I guess they cater mainly to the tourists.
The best surprise of our trip! Read a lot of good reviews, so decided to try it our ourselves. The restaurant is a bit hidden in an alley, but it's worth it! Service was extremely friendly! Run by a local family with the mother in the kitchen and her children in the front. Definitely try the lumpias, beef rendang and chicken with chili and pineapple, so good! Only minus point is that they don't serve alcohol, but there are enough bars nearby for a drink before or after.
Specialize in Indonesian home cook food. Try their Ayam Kesuma, savory and sour soup with fried chicken. Taste good with hot white rice and hot tea.
We generally dint like the Indonesian food we had tried in our long trip. We hence were in search of Indian food but since it was late night and we couldn't find any indian food near by we saw the reviews and decided to try this place out. The place is very interior but don't get disappointed cz the food is going to make up for it. LOVED the food. Big thumbs up.
The food was amazing but very bad service, we needed to wait for nearly 1 hour for the food, lack of staff and we needed to be more proactive and remind them about our order. Better to eat something first before you come here, most of the dishes in the menu are not available. Goodluck!
Very good food and a lovely owner. It’s a bit more expensive than most restaurants (85.000 for a main dish), but it absolutely worth it. The flavors are incredible, and it must have been the most tender chicken I have ever eaten.
It’s best if you make a reservation a day in advance, they are not always open if no customers are expected. And if you want to eat Rendang, come on Friday or Saturday.
Amazing food! The best I have had in Jogja. So wonderful to have the chef explain the dishes! If in Jogja, it is a must!
Really wonderful experience, the food was the best we had in Yogjakarta. The restaurant has moved from the old location, now it's just inside the little alley where the old location was, in a more modest setting of chef Lilies' own home. Very quiet and intimate experience and wonderful hosts. They are in the process of decorating the new location and so I hope they continue to make great food and have lots of success, they deserve it!
