Some good times were had. The left is long and fun. The boat trips add up, so it’s better to walk the reef, maybe bring booties for that. Taking the boat to the left cost to 150,000.

Accommodation is very simple as described in the listing. Had some rats during the visit since I had food in the room, but you can expect that from island life. Make sure you ask for mosquito net and blanket, and go to bed early since there is nothing else to do. There are no towels or soaps provided, so make sure you bring your own.

Make sure you buy a SIM card before arriving, the new cell tower is good and my data was very fast.

People will try to sell you anything from bracelets, fruits, breads, octopus, etc. One guy tried to sell me a lizard, and asked me for my watch every time he saw me. Outside of that, the locals were friendly and safe. We always left the room open and never had any issues.

There is a charge for everything outside of your meals, so make sure you bring extra cash. You can buy warm bintang in the can from Taha for rp40,000. He’s installing solar panels now, so that should help keep them cold. There is a small shop next door you can buy snacks from. The nearby bakery has a few things as well.

Bring your own hammock, mosquito spray, rechargeable battery, and bring your own surf map if you wanna find the good breaks.

All in all, it was as described on the advert. Okay for a short visit as long as you score a swell. If you’re desperate to sure churches’ this the place to go!

I could have really good relaxing and chill times in here with beautiful sorrounding. The bangalow's room is made of natural woods with nice barcony in the plenty garden with many coconut trees, very very good place to have slow times in this small beautiful island.

Taha's family are very friendly and helpful, I didn't have any in convince in this remote Sibaranu Islands for their great supports. Also very good access to awesome Church Surfing point less than 10minutes walk and visit another surfpoints also by Taha's boat.

I definitely come back again to here, strongly recommend. Thanks for everything what you did for me in my staying!

Stayed at Taha's for 10 days and it was an incredible experience.
2 great waves on offer on the island.a left and a right, and then loads of other options close by.
The rooms are clean, the food is local style and offers enough substance to get you through long days of surfing.
Taha, his family and staff are wonderful and genuine people, they naturally make you feel part of the family.
Luxury and authentic don't go very well together out here on these AMAZING islands.so if you like to be pampered and you are needy don't stay here, but if you're a true traveller after a cultural and authentic experience with great waves and at great value. THIS IS YOUR PLACE!

Such a lovely and welcoming experience. Taha and his family make you feel at home and the homestay is just what you need for an island getaway (very clean and well maintained). The food is delicious. The property is beautiful and spacious. Peaceful and quiet. You have 2 waves to surf on the island or you can take a boat to another wave. Highly recommend staying at Taha's.

I still cannot write everything down so here are the main takes I didn't like, the pros are on air b N b
- On the previous to last day (Friday) Taha told me that the speed boat is only leaving on Sunday so one day after my last day of my booking (Saturday). This was perfect as I came one day later and would even the balance. On the Saturday morning, Taha comes and tell me that the ferry is now today and that I have to leave. I had to pack in the hour and leave. Other guests from other resorts told me the boat has been scheduled correctly and were aware of it since the beginning of the week.
The room was pretty chill during the night because of the trade winds currently occuring so I asked Taha about having a blanket. I had to ask 3 times in order to get one, the host was really reluctant.
- The blanket he gave me was full of tiny bugs biting all night long, was impossible to sleep with it, better get cold than bitten.
- There are rats so don't leave any food, this is not a problem in itself but I would have liked to have been warned by the host.
- Since I booked a room by myself, Taha wanted to charge me 700k per night instead of the 600 you pay on Airbnb. He didn't warn me about anything and tried to make me pay at the last minute before hoping on his boat bringing me to the harbor.
- If you come here to surf 5hours + a day, bring a lot of snacks (you can buy some at a small shop behind Taha) and bring some protein supplement. Mind the rats. The meals mostly consisted of rice 80%, a mix of cabbage, carrot and a bit of eggs 10%, fish or chicken (30g portion per person, had chicken 3 times over 6 days). Same thing everyday.
- I have noted to Taha that I am gluten intolerant by message before coming and had to remind him again when being there. He said he forgot and I totally understand but this didn't do anything, crêpes, donuts or bread were most of the breakfast everyday. I told him that even 3 bananas is enough but I guess he didn't mind.
- I've met past guests and have been told that food was indeed better, more diverse and fulfilling and their diet was followed but that the quality has indeed been going down.

This is a wonderful place, very quiet!
The only sound is that of the rain or the fishermen singing
An absolute disconnection.
The place is basic, as you can see on the website, but clean and comfortable.
Only electricity from 7pm to 10pm but most nights with the breeze from the surrounding storms it is more than enough, and of course they are a spectacle.

Excellent food! Cold beer and soft drinks, and if they are not, you just have to tell Taha, he will always try to help and solve any problem or question, whether with food, transportation or the room.

The people of the island, Taha and his family will make you feel at home.

Without a doubt next year I will repeat

Thank you very much Taha for an incredible month

This hotel only has electricity at nite times. (18: 00 to 22: 00)
The owner didn’t tell me that before staying.

No cold beer, of course…

Also, the front of the inn is a public space, so locals often have parties and karaoke.

It's super noisy and leaves a lot of trash behind.

I traveled to many islands but this island was the worst.

This is the nicest place to stay on the island. The accommodation and grounds are immaculate. The accommodation is surrounded by green grass and palm trees and Infront of one of the nicest beaches on the island. It is ideal for long term or short term stay. The food is amazing and they accommodate so well to dietary requirements. I am gluten & lactose free & I don't eat meat. I have never eaten so well. And the serving is also very generous, perfect for refuelling inbetween surf's. The best part of this stay though, is Taha and his family. Taha is so accommodating, great company and by the end of the stay, you feel like part of the family too. It is a beautiful short 10 minute walk to the left hander, and if you don't feel like a walk, just ask one of the locals to take you to the wave via canoe. This really is a special place, I've already booked for next year. Cannot recommend highly enough. If you love a relaxed, easy going atmosphere, then this is the perfect surf retreat. Don't hesitate!

I stayed 3 weeks with Taha - and just loved it. He and his family are really nice people and such good hosts! The accommodation offers everything what you need when you travel remote. It’s really clean and the family is taking good care of everything. Also the food was amazing. If you are vegetarian or even vegan - you still get enough and good food
There is two good waves on the island - a left and a right hander and you can also get by boat to other spots - so what do you need more on
a surf trip! Definitely will come again. Thank you so much Taha and family for the nice time

Taha's was a first class experience: great food, wonderful host, friendly atmosphere, excellent island location and clean, comfortable accommodation. A fantastic place to surf, snorkel, swim or just chill out and read a book. I look forward to a return trip and catching up to Taha's extended family who run such a neat home-stay.

Taha's place on beautiful Sibaranun is where you want to be when looking for simple island life, best surf break in the area within walking distance, hang out with sweet local people and falling asleep to the sound of the waves. Taha is the best host!

I had the best time at Taha’s surf house. He and his family are super friendly and willing to help with everything. The island is incredible and we learnt a lot about local people. I highly recommend staying with Taha and his family.

Taha and his family run a very nice place on Sibaranun Island. Very new and clean Appartements made from local wood with a great view from the terrace onto the waterfront.
Fresh local food for lunch and dinner and pancakes, bakery and fruit for breakfast.
Easy pickup by boat at the side of the ferry makes the arrival really convenient, of course the same boat takes you to the neighboring surf spots as well.
Highly recommended! Thanks Taha!

If you are looking for a friendly place around the Telo islands, Taha's at Telos is the place to go. The accomodation is surrounded by white beaches and very quit. The Island has a left and a right hander wave in walking distance. Or go out with Taha's boat and discover more surfspot around these islands.

Taha has a guesthouse on a beautiful white sand beach. The location is halfway between the left and righthander on the island, only 10 minutes walk away. Mama Jonas cooks the best food! The new guesthouse has nice space on the balcony in the sea breeze and private bathroom

Telo Surf House is a locally owned losmen/surf camp on beautiful Sibaranun Island. It is usually referred to as ‘Taha’s place’ after the owner. In total there are 5 rooms divided between two houses. The main house is very basic and has 3 rooms and a dining room and a covered veranda. Budget surfers often stay here. A couple of hundred meters away is a more up-market double storey villa with two rooms, a kitchen and a large veranda in front. This bungalow is often used by families or small groups who stay for a few weeks. Food is cooked by Tahas wife. Taha speaks English and can arrange boat trips to nearby islands, surf spots and to the airport. This is a place for people who want to experience simple island life.
