Waterfront Zalino

As a Dutch tourist there is not much choice of reliable restaurants in the town, and we ended up at the neighbors Restaurant Waterfront Zalino.

We received a warm and friendly welcome from the nice owner (Mr. Porcupine, as he calls himself).
A good extensive menu with various dishes was presented.
Discussed various dishes with the friendly owner and decided that we would try some exceptional and special dishes, including wild jungle leaves with special sauce and wild fern leaves with special sauce.
We all opted for a fish dish.

Our beer was served in a bamboo tube made and crafted by the owner himself
All in all, we had a delicious meal two evenings in a row and had a nice chat with the owner who also speaks quite good Dutch and is extremely friendly.
After our main course we asked if the best man had any fruit for us.
Various passion fruits were immediately picked fresh from the tree on the premises and prepared for consumption.
Even the price is very pleasant.
A great experience and definitely recommended for lunch or dinner.
This restaurant can certainly compete with many restaurants in the cities or villages on Sumatra.

Extraordinary experience: the fish was really tasty, the sauce was excellent and Zalindo recommanded me to try some unknown vegetables - some cooked leaves from the forest- which were the cherry on the cake!
He ans his wife are very nice and hospitable. Prices are very reasonable.

Beautiful and curious place on Lake Maninjau, where the offer of restaurants abounds by its absence. Local fish with delicious passion fruit sauce and Zalindo Puercoespín, the owner, a friendly character with many stories to tell

Awal bulan lalu kami jalan-jalan ke Danau Maninjau, lalu tidak sengaja bertemu rumah makan ini. Makanannya enak, ikannya segar bumbunya pun meresap dengan baik
Pulang dari sana ternyata tas saya ketinggalan. Baru sadar setelah tiba di Bukittinggi dan sudah terlalu lelah untuk balik lagi ke rumah makan.

Restoran tepi danau menyajikan makanan lokal khas Maninjau. Wajib coba sayur daun sitapu-nya dan gulai ikan patin. Lamak bana!

When you eat at the side of a large lake, you would expect the food that came from it and this place is serving the perfect idea.

The meals would satisfy your tounge with some new tastes. Soursop and passion fruit is a nice touch that would make everything taste fresher. Fresh water lobster and rinuk is some of the must-try dish. Your tummy would thanks for it!

If you want to have a nice chit-chat, just approach the owner, Mr. Zalino/Porcupine itself. He would tell you his story with the biggest smile. Don't worry about language barrier because he could speaks 4 languages! Isn't it insane?

Tl;dr: Just head to this place, have a seat, enjoy the view, and order anything.

This place is wonderful at the lakeside. The fish, lobster and gado-gado we had were delicious. The owner, named porcupine (because he used to make necklaces with the goad) was very friendly and we had a warm welcoming. Right at the beginning we were served fresh passion fruits from his garden.

Lokasi yang berdekatan dengan danau, hembusan angin sore yang menyejukkan. Ditambah dimanjakan dengan matahari terbenam sore yang menakjubkan. Ditemami dengan jus markisa.

Tempat yang cukup menarik, berlokasi di tepian Danau Maninjau. Jadi bisa langsung menikmati keindahan Danau. Sambil berfoto ria dan menikmati sunset menjelang Maghrib datang.
Rasa lelah terbayarkan setelah melalui kelok 44 yang lumayan susah dilalui bagi yang pertama kali datang ke Danau Maninjau. ᐠ (ᐛ) ᐟ

Rasa makanan enak, pelayanan memuaskan. Pemiliknya ramah dan suka bercerita. Sukses buat usaha resto, obat obatan herbal dan sukses juga untuk ekspor buah buah nya.

Tempat nongkrong dipinggiran danau maninjau, dengan view danau maninjau yang sejuk dan menyegarkan bermain air.

Tempat bersantai di pinggir danau Maninjau, masakannya banyak, atau mau sekedar minuman hangat. Lebih spesialnya, pemilik resto juga menjual obat dan ramuan tradisional khas masyarakat setempat, seperti Kayu Jiwa, dan Minuman Janin Kijang. Kaum pria dijamin jos!

Wahhhhh, banyak sekali saya mendapatkan hal" yang luar biasa disana, mulai dari makanan yang sangat enak, pemandangan yang luar biasa indahnya, ditambah sang pemilik restorant yang sangat cerdas, karena bisa menguasai 4 bahasa asing ditambah ilmu bercocok tanam yang tinggi

All of Maninjau clearly was a tourist place 10 years ago. Now you will be one of few. There is not much to do there anymore but the view from your water side bungalow is amazing!

Waterfront Zalino is one of few restaurants which is a good place to eat. Nice local good as a fresh grilled fish is something to consider eating. A bit overpriced though but it’s a welcome change if you’re already used to the Indonesian kitchen.

Tempat ini sangat nyaman, dan sangat menarik.dengan pemandangan danau maninjau nya yang segar yang bikin kita rileks, pemiliknya menguasai beberapa bahasa sehingga mempermudah wisatawan asing berkunjung dan berkomunikasi dengan pemiliknya.makanan nya sangat enak dan seafoodnya sangat enak utk dinikmati, dan jus nya terutama jus sirsak sangat segar, sangat cocok untuk refreshing keluarga, teman, bahkan dengan pacar.

Tempat yang tepat untuk bersantai. Menikmati makanan siang. Kita dimanjakan akan relief bukit yang menarik. Suasana sekitar terbilang cukup alami dan nature
