Bunaken Divers Seabreeze Resort

The resort's best years are long behind it. Everything is run down and in desperate need of renovation. The photos used for advertising are at least 15 years old.
The area is fenced in with a rusty, dilapidated corrugated iron fence and there are several collapsed buildings on the unkempt site. The cleanliness of the bungalows, especially the beds (better not to look under the sheets), leaves a lot to be desired.
Unfortunately, the food was very monotonous as the menus were repeated after 3 days.
The location is nice and the diving was good, but you can hardly go wrong in the Bunaken with the beautiful reefs.

The ideal place if you really want to have some peace and quiet. This is my fourth time here and I'm enjoying every minute. A really very good diving area. Everything totally stress-free. Terry, the owner, is very friendly and takes care of everything. The fridge is always full of cold Anker beer. No Bitang! The bungalows are very clean and comfortable. But you shouldn't expect luxury. What for? Great, customized diving, really good home cooking, friendly people, peace and much more. I will definitely come back!

We spent 1 week at Seabreeze and we really liked the family atmosphere of the place. Meals are served in a common room, with a view of the sea, everyone sits together around the table and we have a good time talking about our lives or the beautiful dives of the day.
Terry is very friendly and he was able to bring together a great team around him. The meals are local and very good. The instructors are motivated and attentive to expectations.

We loved our time at Seabreeze! It is a beautiful place to learn dive. Terry is really a nice guy and a good instructor. He also helped us a lot with planning our trip after Bunaken. Greetings to the rest of the team. Thanks Micky and Jeff for diving with us and thanks Felma for the tasty (and vegetarian) food! Hopefully we‘ll come back someday.

Seabreeze will always be one of my favorite places

I have been to Bunaken Seabreeze the first time in October 2018, just to do some snorkeling and relaxing. To my surprise all the other guests were divers and soon I felt totally out of place. The boat had to take me everytime to a different place for snorkeling on my own which I thought was not fair towards the crew and made me feel excluded. To my surprise I was offered to join the divers for a trial. All security measures were taken to assure my safety and the divemaster took my hand every time the following days. These first impressions of being so close to the wonders under water will never leave me. I'm a biologist and National guide of South Africa so I felt at home under the water in no time. I still don't know how to thank Terry and his fantastic crew. Back home again (Spain) I started a diving course immediately in December. Not a good idea.theory fine but diving at 0 grade water temperature impossible.which did not prevent me to do my first 2 brevets soon in Egypt.and in September my 3.which is nitrox. I've done 100 dives in one year. Sansibar 2x and Mozambique and back to Bunaken and Bangka. Apart from being the best and most colourful diving, it also has an incredible amount of fauna and flora which is certainly hard to surpass. Being a sculptor of bronzes, my special love is Bunaken where the long lost coelacanth (lived 60.000 years ago) was discovered again.of which I made a life size bronze, now in a museum. Unfortunately Corona stopped all activities, which I miss, being at an age where every year counts, but hope to be back soon and start again. I also fully agree with Iain Johnston's commentaries and can only add that everything is above any expectations if you don't compare with a 5 star hotel. And believe you me. I have lived in the African bush on and off in the last 35 years.and that is different.
By the way, you should be so lucky to encounter any forest rats or mice.they are not even interested in our food.or geckos. I have a whole family living in my house.they bring luck and eat your mosquitos.here where I live, in a well known coastal town in Spain.

Bunaken Seabreeze was a delighteful honeymoon spot. The staff will go above and beyond to accommodate your preferences and make the stay wonderful. We stayed in the resort 5 nights. The bungalows on the beach have beautiful views of the ocean and sunrise is particularly stunning!

During our 5 night stay we dove 7 times. 6 of the dives were wall dives. Each of the wall dives were better than we could have imagined; a plethora of fish, a Pygmy sea horse, pipefish, rays, octopus, and other amazing sea creatures were spotted throughout our dives. The last dive we did was a night dive. At night we were exposed to different sea life not quite as teaming as the morning dives but no less amazing. Also, the bioluminescent fish and plankton were a highlight of that night dive.

Overall, this was a great part of our journey to Indonesia and we would definitely recommend this location. Some things to be aware of are the fact that this is not a luxury resort! Despite that we would have no reservations about coming back to this surreal spot in the world, and specifically to Bunaken Seabreeze resort.

Bunaken Divers Sea Breeze Resort is located on a quiet spot on Pangalisang Beach, just 80 metres from the finest sites in the Marine Park. It provides free Wi-Fi and a PADI-certified diving centre.
Full-board Indonesian and western meals, water and tea/coffee are provided for free at the open-air Seafront restaurant.

Spread across 2.5 hectares of tropical gardens, the wooden bungalows are simply furnished with a fan. The private terrace enjoys views of the sea and reef. En suite bathrooms are equipped with shower facilities.

Sheltering some of the world's most beautiful marine reefs, Bunaken Island is a 40-minute boat ride from Manado Harbour. From there, it is a 30-minute drive from Sam Ratulangi Airport. Transfers can be arranged at an extra charge.

Guests can arrange day trips at the tour desk, or rent snorkelling and diving equipment. The resort also provides laundry services.

Bungalow yg sangat menyenangkan dekat dengan laut dan bisa snorkling, hanya kurang AC dan air mandi masih asin, makanannya enak cocok dengan selera kami sekeluarga, pemiliknya sangat ramah membuat segala kekurangannya jadi ga bermasalah. It's a great place for diving and without a comparison to other resorts on the island I can't make a comparison. The staff are great and do everything they can to make your stay an experience. The meals on full board basis mean you need to dive to burn some of the calories off. Some of the best diving in the world!
The only downside is the saltwater cold showers, which means I was happy to leave after 5 days to get a proper hot, fresh wash! This isn't a reflection of the resort as maybe its the same at others.
It is limited for things to do with young children apart from the obvious beach.
It is definitely a place to revisit but as a divers only place.

I can't believe Marc, me and may wife make many dives with very good divemaster's.
We diving also in strong current and we have been every time save.

I put an edit in almost a week ago but the location shown on the map is still wrong. If it still shows the place half way up the island that's totally the wrong place. It is no more than 500 metres from the main pier/village. It has no sign, just a Padi flag by a gate to some fencing.

Hotelanlage gut, Tauchbasis gut, Sevice und Informationen ausreichend, kein Sandstrand, Strom zeitweisend, Wifi sehr selten. Essen gut, aber nicht ausreichend verfügbar.

Had the best time of my life! Great staff and the diving was unbelievable! The bungalows were very cozy and clean. Thank you all at Sea Breeze!:) Can't wait to come back!

You feel nature as the resort is next to the sea. Staff is so helpful. Room (bungalows) sizes are big. In front of the resorts, you can go snorkeling and can see variety of colorful sea creatures (including sea turtles) and corals. Shower quality was not satisfactory as water was salty and having low pressure. Diving staff was helpful too, diving equipment looks dated but enough. Recommended.
