Meridian Adventure Marina Club & Dive Resort Waisai

Difficult to give one review. The dive centre is excellent but the hotel is very limited both in terms of what it offers and the level of service. Hotel would get a 2 or 3 out of 5 stars.

I cannot speak highly enough of my dive experience at the Meridian Adventure Resort.

The dive managers and staff were among the most professional I have ever been diving with, and the logistics of the daily dive trips were planned to a T. They created an atmosphere of a group of dive buddies out for the day on every trip.

I very much felt like family by the end of my stay!

The purpose of my trip was for underwater photography, and the crew took impeccable care of my gear. I had specific photography subjects in mind (wobbegong shark, pygmy seahorse, peacock mantis shrimp, cuttlefish, etc.) and they made it happen on each and every dive. They all went above and beyond to make sure I had the photo opportunities I was looking for.

Thank you to Duan and Joane for coordinating the best dive trip of my life! Simpson, Yigit and Abner for seeking out all the marine life I had been looking forward to seeing for over a year. Instructor Ross for being my dive buddy, and Dive Masters Carly, Alice, Margeaux and Louie for leading each dive and maximizing the biodiversity of marine life we all got to experience.

We had the most enjoyable time! We were there to dive and we had the best diving experience one can imagine. Duane’s team is outstanding: we are sailing around the world, dived in the Caribbean, Galapagos, French Polynesia, Fiji, etc and no where have we ever found this level of excellence. If you are into diving this is your place of choice ; if not I would look somewhere else.

I had an amazing experience at Meridian Dive Resort. The staff were super friendly and welcoming and the accommodations were comfortable, clean, and came with modern appliances and great air conditioning that was a nice treat after a long day in the sun. I enjoyed the communal dining/lounge area and the food and fresh fruit juices were great. Duan was our guide and his knowledge and navigational abilities of the reef system and dive spots made the trip the most memorable diving experience I've ever been on. I felt safe and had so much fun under his watch in the warm waters of Raja Ampat's many pristine marine sanctuaries.

Had a wonderful 5 days at this resort in Sept of 2023.
As this is a scuba diving resort everything was designed and scheduled for that experience. My review is based on the scuba trip I did here.

The dive boats are first class. Better than any other we saw in the area, in fact best boats we found in all my Indonesian diving locations. Guides and captains know their stuff and your gear is always prepared for you. Very first class experience for divers.
Note: There fleet are all RIB boats so there is only seating on the pontoons or floor. The boats are fast and cut the water nicely so it’s a great experience.

Rental gear is great if you’re going that route. No issues with anything. Very well maintained.

I would strongly recommend taking the hotel transfer from the ferry terminal. Even though it’s only a 4 minute walk to the resort from the terminal, the route is unsafe along the makeshift overwater boardwalk. Stairs collapsed on me and I fell into the mangroves causing lots of cuts and damage to my gear.

Hotel rooms are clean and all the hotel staff are very accommodating to your needs and asks.
The rooms are a little on the small side (around the bed) but you’re likely not spending much time in the rooms other than sleeping. So very acceptable.
Food was wonderful but costly compared to the restaurants in town.

Overall this place is a 5/5. Would strongly recommend and will definitely be the only place I stay when diving Raja Ampat.
Do truly consider this resort as you won’t be disappointed.

Not recommended for Indonesians/locals. They will treat you carelessly, unless you are foreigners.

Wonderful place.
All personnel are extremely helpful and friendly. They can assist you for anything and give very useful advise.
Although the resort is not big and the rooms rather tight but it is a very neat place, well organised and clean.
Everything is made to measure.
Although the menu is quite restricted all the choices are delicious.
The dive center is perfect with a wonderful team. Highly professional, catering for all your requests and ultra helpful.
A place to be strongly recommended.

World class dive service at absolutely amazing dive sites. The boat crew and dive guides take care of everything and let you focus on your amazing dives. The boats and rental gear are immaculate. The rental gear is the best I’ve ever experienced. We even saw them doing their scheduled maintenance on the regulators. It set the tone for the rest of our trip because it was all perfectly taken care of.
The hotel is a clean, modern facility that is eco conscious. Lovely pool and outdoor area. The staff at the restaurant are friendly and very nice. It is much more of a self serve environment. If you need or want something you will, more than likely have to find someone and ask. They will happily assist you but won’t always be behind the bar or at the dining area. If you like to have drinks, try to bring your own alcohol. The price tag on drinks is $$$. The food is very good but a little pricey.

It was just for one night quite comfortable not for more days unless you gonna do some diving. Not so much in food limited food.

The organization, the speedboats and service are excellent. Furthermore the staff is friendly and helpful. The resort has a nice swimmingpool and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Ok, the rooms are small, but who needs a big room when staying and diving in RA? This was our 2nd visit and without a doubt a 3rd time will be there too.

I experienced some incredible days of diving with Meridian. Excellent diving-boats made it possible to make dives in remote locations with minimum time spent on travelling, while taking breaks between dives on beautiful small Islands and beaches in the area. Dive-equipment first class, and dive-operation was professional and well driven.
Friendly staff, great food, nice rooms. Even pulled off a nice xmas-dinnner. Throughout my stay the service was always welcoming and positive.
And the dives: Best diving-experience, ever!

Its a terrific resort offering and rare blend of true adventure and comfort in a remarkable location. Went there in July 2022 for 4 days and did 7 dives. The diving facilities are first class and its a well run operation. The dive support team is very good and genuinely friendly. Food and bar were good. For me it was a trip I'll never forget. Thanks everyone!

Stayed here 2 nights and had an great time. The room and toilet are so clean, but the air conditioner very cold. Eco friendly hotel with no plastics. Super friendly and kind staff. Overall excellent hotel.

Best place in raja.crisp sheets and freezing cold room. It was exactly what i needed after 8 days on a boat

I went diving with Meridian and it was amazing! The equipments are new & loved the boat. One of the fanciest boat I’ve ever seen: p the service was amazing, they provided fruit & towel for in between dives. The guide, Abner, is very knowledgeable, as well as Luc:) they dropped me off in the resort in Batanta island for free (we went to P47 & tac’s favourite which are quite close). Thank you!
