Bendungan Waikelo Sawah

My review relates more to everything about the waterfall. Waterfall 5 stars from me.

I rode the scooter to this place. A local came there and almost pressured me to show me the way. He couldn't speak English, he said something like 5 so I assumed I would have to pay 50k. In the end I didn't care, I just wanted to see this waterfall and leave without getting lost in the fields. When we were down there, a man stood in front of me with a machete in his hand and asked for the ticket. My “leader” told him something and then he said okay, good. So I was there, taking photos, enjoying the silence and the landscape and my "leader" even took photos for me. Afterwards we wanted to leave again, but then the machete man came and said I had to pay 20k. So I gave him 20k to say he was happy and we went back upstairs. My “leader” then showed me this cave and the origin of the waterfall and then he wanted 50k from me. As always, I only had too big notes with me and gave him 100k and said 70 back since I had already paid 20k. He didn't understand a word and we ran to his boss who was sitting there like he was Tuco from Breaking Bad. He didn't bat an eyelid, gave me 50k back after a while and didn't even look at me. I thought the same thing as the person who wrote a comment here: the exploitation of tourists is a shame and a bad trait of certain people. Most of them are nice, fair and just appreciate that you are among the locals, but it is precisely because of people like this Tuco and his followers that you get a bad feeling as a tourist.
In the end I can say that the tour was good despite the language barrier, I was never afraid or anything, the waterfall and the rice fields are incredibly beautiful and yes, what's 70k for a tourist, but when you consider that expense, the locals Added together with made-up tourist prices, you quickly reach large sums. That's why I'm working hard to learn Indonesian so that I can at least communicate a little with everyone.

Short and sweet tips vkn me:
- don't go alone, maybe with a tour
- download the language from Google Translator, as there is almost no network there
- don't let Tuco and his masters persuade you like I did
- maybe ask a worker in the rice field for help and offer 20k or so in return
- look for the other way so that you don't end up with the locals.
- Don't forget a sun hat and sunscreen
- enjoy

Pemandangan yang sangat indah. Bisa ditempuh dr waitabula Kurang lebih 40 mnt. Karena jalannya sdkit rusak dan sangat berdebu. Tarif untuk masuk ke tempat ini tergantung warga lokal yg jaga. Kadang 10K kadang 20K.

Salah satu lokasi wisata yang tempatnya sejuk, airnya juga bersih. Juga berdekatan dengan weekacura, sehingga kita dpt berkunjung pada 2 tempat sekaligus

A nice place to visit in Sumba - I think you can swim in here it’s surrounded by beautiful rice feilds and there is a cave here as-well. There is a small path which takes you to the Bayan tree it’s worth visiting. You might have locals asking you for a small fee for keeping the area clean it’s great

Locals collecting the money (without any kind of ticket) are not friendly at all. They asked me 50k. I’m pretty sure nobody else paid to be there. Beautiful place but this attitude towards foreigners has to stop.

Tempat sangat bagus. Cumn bayar karcis 2rb/org. Airnya dingin, pmndangan sawah, air terjun, goA bukan biasanya.

Waikelo sawah merupakan Wisata Alam air terjun dalam Gua batu dan hamparan sawah yang hijau sejauh mata memandang

Harus ditatah dengan baik dan dikelolah dengan baik supaya bisa lebih disimpatik oleh para pengunjung.

Bendungan yang mulai ramai di kunjungi wisatawan. Air berwarna tosca di dalam gua dan berwisata menyusuri sawah. Excited.to explore sumba

Tempat refreshing yang bagus serta akses dari kota Waikabubak yang hanya membutuhkan waktu hanya 10-15 menit dengan kendaraan roda 2 maupun roda 4.

Tempat wisata yg sangat bagus untuk dikunjungi dengan pemandangan yg sangat indah n asri msh alami aliran air dr dlm goa begitu indah banget aliran air persawahan.

Saw it on Instagram and and it comes with a little bit different from what I see. It is a small dam where surrounded by rice terrace where unfortunately it's all dry. I think best time to come is around February or March where everythings green
