Amazing experience! Everything was organized down to the last detail, the food was very tasty, the guide and porters do a fantastic job. We really appreciated the personal approach: the evening before the trekking we were allowed to have dinner with Syam and his wife and the entire team was super helpful and sweet. We would recommend Syam without a doubt!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING experience with Syam Trekker! We booked the 3D2N summit package (private). Highly recommended because:
(1) Syam replies emails really quickly, which made the booking process fast and easy.
(2) The package price and inclusions are listed clearly and comprehensively on the website. Fully transparent with no hidden costs.
(3) Fuss-free experience where EVERYTHING was included - pick-up, drop-off, 1-night accommodation and visit to two waterfalls the day before the hike, entrance fees, camping equipment, food, water, hot tea/coffee, soft drinks, snacks, toilet tent, trekking poles, guide, and porters. Syam was so nice to even pay for our meals the day before the hike!
(4) Pick-up by our driver (Bul) was on time and he was friendly and drives well.
(5) The 1-night accommodation at Rinjani Lighthouse was nice and comfortable. Rustic and cozy space with a spacious bathroom.
(6) Really comfortable camping experience because they provided pillows, sleeping mats and thick sleeping bags (bonus: the sleeping bags smelt so fresh and good!).
(7) Food was delicious. Great variety too. Freshly prepared by our awesome guide (Rup) and porters (Jul and San) on the mountain. Lovely people - after knowing that we like spicy food, they specially made our mie goreng and nasi goreng spicier. So sweet of them!:)
(8) Our guide knows the best photo spots and never fails to ask if we would like a photo. He also offered to hold my hand during parts of the descent when he saw that I was very scared HAHA. Knowing that we had no more water left towards the end, he even specially bought us two bottles of iced water when we were back at Syam Trekker's office. Super thoughtful.
(9) Our porters were always so smiley even after carrying a crazy load of 30-40kg each. Mad respect for these people.
(10) 10/10 experience from start to end. Everything was well taken care of.

They give you a lot of food and it's delicious. I always left it because there was so much of it. I did a private trekking to the summit for 3 days and 2 nights, and I am very satisfied! Our guide Irwin is so kind and nice. I would like to use syam even if I go again. (And this is a company that brings back trash)

Very good experience with this company! We really recommend the 2 days 1 night hike from Senaru and sleeping in the crater. The food, the gear, the guide, the porters, everything excellent. Awesome experience! Resi, Syam and their trekking crew are such wonderful people. Helpful, kind, always caring. The preparation of the trekking tour was really good. We were picked up at the harbour in Bangsal and brought to Senaru, where Syam Trekking is based. There, Syam explained the trekking route and the itinery in detail. The next morning we met our guide who was awesome as well as our porters (probably the strongest men we have ever met).
While trekking, they told us so much about nature, the volcano, the locals and even more. The trekking route was beautiful and we felt save all the time. All meals that they prepared for us were just awesome. The equipment (tent, sleeping bags,) was well cleaned and comfortable.
If we come back to Rinjani one time, we will definitely hire again Syam Trekking!

Highlights:
Syam and Resi offer a huge variety of different trekking tours to Mt. Rinjani. You can choose between different packages (duration, starting point, additional hikes,). Just kindly ask in advance.
The day before the trekking started, Resi took us to some awesome waterfalls near Senaru (actually the best ones we saw during our travels in Indonesia!)
Resi, Syam and their team really care about nature. During their hikes they collect rubbish and bring it down to the village. There, Resi and some other women manufacture lovely souvenirs from plastic.
The company pays its guides and porters extra money for collecting rubbish during their hikes.
The guides speak English quite fluently and well.

We did the 2d1n trekking from senaru last week and we really enjoyed it! It was a tough trip but it was worth it. Our guide Rob was a really kind and funny guy who took good care of us. Of course I also have to mention that the porters did a great job, carrying all of our tents etc and preparing some very extensive meals. What we noticed was that it was not very busy on the mountain while we were there. We were told that this was still the consequence of the earthquake last year. In my opinion there’s no reason to be hesitant about going. The views from the craterrim are magnificent and for us 2 days was more than enough (we are pretty fit people in our 20s-30s and it was a challenge for us every now and then). I would definitely recommend this trekkingcompany, they are very professional, kind and well equiped! Couldn’t have asked for more.

Great experience! Syam trekker arranged everything very well and I would highly recommend using their services. The guide and porters were awesome and helped us through the difficult parts. Food that they prepared was amazing and probably the best we had during the three weeks we were in Indonesia!

We did Mount Rinjani Trekking with Sham Trekker SENARU for 3 days and 2 nights to the summit and lakes, the organization was excellent, friendly, very helpful, good guides and operators, foods excellent, camping equipments were good and a day before our hike we went to waterfall for free of charge. Our 4 days 3 nights package couldn't have been organized better. Ary, our guide was very social, responsible and ready to help with any problem. He made sure to pay a lot of attention to our safety and comfort.
Ema & Apet, our porters worked tirelessly, carrying with super human strength all the equipment/food and preparing the campsite. We hardly had to wait for our tent, or food which was delicious and abundant.
We couldn't have done the trek without this team.

Best choice for Mt Rinjani!

Where do I even begin? We were recommended Syam Trekker by a friend and it was one of the best decision made ever.

Pick up from airport was smooth. And they sent us to the doorstep of our Airbnb after the trek.

We had Awar as our guide - good enough english to converse, super experienced with 10 years as a porter and 2 years as a guide. Felt very secure and confident with him leading us through our 3D2N trek. He helped with taking pictures too hahah. All the porters were friendly yet professional throughout the trek.

The food prepared by the porters was always more than enough and we were never hungry. (Really, no need to bring your own food at all.) There's 3 meals proper meals per day, with cut fruits, tea/coffee. Some meals will be accompanied with orange juice/coke/sprite. There will be energy bar/biscuits along the way when stopping to rest. We had goreng pisang for snack before one of the dinners too!

The sleeping tents were more than adequate. Very spacious! Mattress was thick enough, pillow provided too. Warm sleeping bag provided, though we still need to wear thermal to sleep.

Value for money! Just use Syam Trekker, won't be wrong!

Syam Trekker is simply an outstanding organisation. If you are planning to do a Rinjani trekking, do so with Syam. The Rinjani trekking to the top is beautiful, every few hours there is another scenery, from very green to grey lava stones, from forest to outstanding views. Be aware that you are in a good condition; if you don't exercise weekly during daily life this trip will be extremely tough. Syam Trekker is in my opinion the best option; skilled and good guide and porters, super warm tents, comfy sleeping mats and warm and clean sleeping bags, so you will not get cold during the night. This is important because it can get very cold during the nights at 2600m. Also the food is very good, tasty and rich of calories which you will need for your trip. Our guide Andy was incredibly friendly, he speaks English quite well and helps you making this an amazing experience. Andy, thank you so much! Also the porters were very helpfull to us. Please make sure that you get them a good tip at the end of your trip, because without them the trekking to the top seemed impossible to me. With a couple from Belgium we climbed and walked the trekking in one full day and one night to the top. The small groups are unique for Syam and really worth paying for, because the guide can teach you a lot about the surroundings and the vulcanous en it's in my opinion more cosy than with a large group. Although my boyfriend stopped at 20min.before the summit because I was having a hard time with altitude sickness, we loved this experience and the sunrise above those incredible mountains and vulcanoes.
