Tempat Senang Spa Resort & Restaurant

Tempat Senang is one of those places that is quite cut off from the hustle and bustle of city life. Where you can take a break from life. We love the restaurant, the ikan pepes and beef redang is a must try at the restaurant. If you have breakfast the Kaya is fantastic. Special mention to Yuliana who was memorable across both our visits to Tempat Senang.

Unreal spa; beyond gorgeous and the treatments and service are five-star all the way. Can't wait to visit again!

The focus here is customer service, from collection at the port, to communication at the resort.
The food was excellent, the surroundings heavenly, including 3 outdoor pools.
The treatments were great and the staff were all very accommodating and helpful throughout.
I would go back here again and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
One thing to confirm in advance, which they advise about on the website, is a single treatment room, i.e. Do confirm if you have the room to yourself or you need to share.

The massage package was reasonably priced and the service was top-notch. I felt relaxed, calm, and comfortable during the massage sessions. Highly recommended! I didn’t take pictures of the rooms but I managed to take a picture of the delicious food from their in-house restaurant.

Tempat Senang provides exceptional services in a gorgeous, off the beaten path environment. The staff is friendly and accommodating and strive to make guests feel comfortable. It is always a relaxing, as well as, rejuvenating experience when I book a spa day at Tempat Senang.

It was a wonderful experience to be at this cozy resort so close to Singapore. A relaxing getaway.

Had a great time there. From the pick up at the ferry terminal to the end of stay, the staff were super efficient. Room was clean and nice. Spa session was superb. Not forgetting the delicious food served after the spa session. Definitely worth the money.

Beautiful relaxing experience. Really felt in another world. The staff took care of us and the food for lunch during the 6 hour day spa was absolutely delicious. My favourite was the hot compress. Will be back!

Great options for massage, facials and other treatments. Always friendly staff ready to welcome you, my perfect day trip with friends & family away from the city, easy ferry visit from Singapore. Appreciated even more now we can travel, there are visa charges of S$50
to enter Indonesia with certain passports.

A wonderful weekend spa get away with the family. Staff were lovely and warm, taking care of every need.
Resort is surrounded by lush greenery, tucked away from the city, which is the exactly the reason why we went. The food at the resort’s restaurant was delicious so no need to leave resort, really.

I have been here a couple of times (5-6 times) since they opened and have always enjoyed my stay. However, the past weekend was my most disappointing trip. When we first arrived, we were attended to by a nice therapist but halfway through explaining, she had to entertain another couple. The manager then came to explain the package to us but she rushed through the explanation and was not helpful at all. For e.g. She failed to ask where our problem spots were and could not even explain the differences in the hair spa creams being used. In her own words "it's all the same". She was not friendly and we felt quite rushed.
Subsequently, we were attended by our respective masseuse for the first three hour spa. Whilst the masseuse were nice, they were not competent. The first problem was when they told us they will start off with a massage then our hot herbal compresses and subsequently the scrub. When I asked if it was better to start with a hot herbal compress to soften our bodies and circulate our blood before the massage, they said it was, but they have not heated up the herbal compresses. We then recommended to start with the scrub to allow the hot herbal compress to warm up and ensure it was done before the massage and they reluctantly agreed. It seemed that if we did not enquire, they would have just chosen what was easiest without caring what was the best way to arrange our treatment. It is a blessing that I have gone to this place a few times to know how the treatments work best. During our body scrubs, both of us felt that they skipped the common areas such as our armpits and for other areas such as the knees and elbows, they just lightly brushed it.
Thankfully, lunch was good and the next three hour spa also went uneventfully as our masseuses were changed (we did not request for this) and they were more competent.
Throughout our stay, we felt that the staff did not pay attention to us much, confusing our checkout times at least twice though we had already shared the information with them upon checking in. The reception area was also always empty and we had to ask the restaurant staff each time we needed something. Having said that, Victoria and the restaurant staff were friendly and nice and were the best part of our experience.
The worst bit was our experience after checking out. At the point of checking out, they presented us with our bill. We did not ask much and assume everything was correct. I opted to pay through my credit card and signed the receipt. We then left the resort. About an hour or so later, they contacted my friend (who made the reservation) to inform her that they had erroneously charged us and there was a shortfall. As we were still in Batam and sorting out our return plans, we told them we will paynow the shortfall later once we check the invoice. However, later they suddenly messaged my friend and informed that they have now charged our card the new amount (shortfall). This was done without our confirmation to the amount and without our permission to charge/use our card details. We were so surprised and taken aback by this. I am not sure how they are able to even use our card details and charge us another amount without us being present or confirming the amount. The only silver lining is that after reaching home, we checked the amount and it was correct but I am deeply troubled that they saw it fit to charge our card without waiting for our confirmation/approval. In fact, when they emailed me the receipt and to apologise for the error, I asked them why they thought it was ok to charge our card without permission but I have not heard from them since.
The only reason I would return again is because I have had so many good stays earlier and I am hoping this is a one-off incident.

My daughter and myself went for an overnight stay and it was a delightful experience. Fantastic spa treatments, Balinese massage, facial, hair treatments and body scrub. So relaxing and rejuvenating. The food was excellent, so tasty and delicious. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. We loved our room, "Indonesia", and the tranquility and peace of the outdoor areas. We will visit again!

This was our 4th visit to Tempat Senang in the past few years. We took the 3-hour spa package, selecting the swedish massage, hot compress and foot reflexology, and really enjoyed it. Lunch and dinner were both excellent. We highly recommend the kebabs for dinner. Breakfast is part of the package and it was a small but more than decent layout.

Overall, I would highly recommend Tempat Senang for anyone looking for a relaxing weekend getaway and who enjoys spas/massages.

_Update_
We went back in October 2022 and stayed in the Bottle Cottage. This was our first visit back since December 2019. The report had been closed for 2.5 years. Despite this, service standards were the same. Staff were friendly and efficient. For the massage, I tried the office massage, foot reflexology and hot compress. It was a very good experience and I felt that the office massage in particular really helped to loosen some stiff muscles. We had shish kebabs for dinner once again and as always, it was excellent. There's no longer a buffet breakfast. They offer Asian or Western breakfast options and you can place your order with the staff.

Repeating my previous review: Overall, I would highly recommend Tempat Senang for anyone looking for a relaxing weekend getaway and who enjoys spas/massages.

Returned to Tempat Senang after 2 years of Covid non-travel. We used to love this place but my fear was 2 years of closure would have made it fade given humidity and wear and tear sitting closed. Total opposite! It’s better than ever. Spotlessly clean, same menu but food has gone up a notch, service impeccable, Spa felt newer and fresher, just everything was fantastic. I’m quite amazed, but so delighted this little oasis of paradise has upped its game during their period of closure. Very well done to the mgmt for achieving this, well done to the team for super high standards and we will be back regularly for sure. Sublime!

All the staff are really friendly and professional. We have visited many times and they never disappoint us. This is a very nice resort to chill. We love the spa too!

The half spa package is a absolute must do! The staff there are very polite and helpful. Dennis, Jeje and Euis and all staff did an excellent job!

Tempat Senang is an excellent boutique spa resort. It's off the beaten track but the staff and service standards make it extremely easy for a visit. The level of the spa treatments is high and worth the trip. The rooms are all themed and add a distinct charm and flavour to the stay. We stayed in the Thai Room, and made full use of the large bathtub. We will definitely visit again.
