The Roots Salads @ Como Park, Kemang

More disappointment when trying to find vegan in Jakarta. This spot only does takeaway, and is not a restaurant. You can order there, but the food is meant for those who don’t really mind if the ingredients are not fresh.

I ordered the Thai Tofu Wrap, which consisted of cold glass noodles, day old vegetables (edges were browning), and no more than 4 small pieces of tofu. All cold and tossed in a wrap then into a toasted.

Also got the Falafels after she told me that the sauce was vegan. They were so dry and also cold, and most probably microwaved in back. The sauce had a soapy taste and could not save the falafels and wrap from their own blandness.

No coffee, no coffee machine.

The spot is next to a doggy park and groomer, and a few other small restaurants.

Only cool part of trekking here was the dogs and shop cats wandering around.

Bring your dog, cuddle some cats, skip the food at Roots.

Menu yang pas buat teman2 yang cari menu makan sehat.boleh dicoba thai tofu, chicken tika, vegan burrito dan mushroom soup.

Tempat makan vegan nih, yg direkomendasiin salad nya, tapi kebetulan lagi mood dessert dan cuci mulut aja nih, jadi gak kesampaian cobain saladnya. Brownies vegannya coklatnya terasa banget! Cuma makan sendiri kekenyangan, jadi bagi 2. Kopinya nendang! Kafeinnya terasa, dan unik cobain pakai oat milk. Mungkin next time cobain salad nya ya.

There are plenty of Vegetarian and Vegan friendly options in Jaksel (Jakarta Selatan - Southern Jakart) area near Como Park.

Due to its distance, I rather prefer delivery. The cafe, btw, is very neat and clean.
My go-to menus are as follows (all below Rp 100,000)

- Thai wrap sandwich and salad (5/5)
- Tempeh Tikka Sandwich and Salad (5/5)
- Falafel Wraps - though their falafels are quit wet not crunchy and dry but in wrap, it's good! (4/5)
- and Burritos wrap (5/5)
(All vegan!)
- not so much big on their rice bowl or burger, but their salad and wraps!

What I do love about this place is that it doesn't overly expand the choices, they focus on what they are good at such as sandwiches and salad.

It's really challenging to find good sandwiches in Jakarta, which I found quite bizarre in such a big bustling city. Probably, its food scene concentrates on Warung and food courts for lunch takeaways than sandwich.

Highly recommended for plantbased eaters!

Ada hal yang cukup spesial manakala saya memesan naan dengan saos Indianya karena saosnya seperti baru diambil dari kulkas sehingga rasanya lumayan dingin. Tentu kontras dengan roti yang lumayan panas sehingga Anda akan merasakan hal yang lumayan unik di dalam mulut Anda.

Sayangnya, menurut saya, harga masih terlalu mahal jika kita mau membandingkan antara harga yg dijual dengan porsi yang telah dimasak oleh tukang masak restoran ini. Tentu saja saya masih ingin kembali lagi di waktu-waktu yang akan datang.

Sorry Guys, i paid more then 100 K for a wrap and what i get for the price is ridiculous small. Taste was good so far but make fair portion for the price. Cheers

Semua makanannya enak, sehat dan mengenyangkan. Staff dan baristanya sangat ramah. Tempat sangat bersih, rapi dan cocok buat makan sendiri maupun ramai-ramai

Super yummy foods! The Mediterranean salad was delish, but the falafel didn't seem super fresh. Besides that, I love the atmosphere and creative menu options. Wifi is also good. And I like the option of smaller salads for less price. They also have a loyalty program which is nice. Will definitely be back here again soon.

Tempatnya enak, nyaman, dan tidak bising. Buat menghabiskan waktu sendiri enak, buat ngobrol sama temen2 enak. Atau abis makan mie di atas bingung nongkrong karena ada antrian lain yg mau makan mie bisa di sini. Suasana nya enak bisa lihat arena anjing nya dan di temani kopi enak. Tempat 4/5, rasa 4/5, pelayanan 4/5.

Great place to have healthy brunch on Sunday. Enaknya dtg pagi, sepi parkiran. Kalau siang sedikit ramai krn pengunjung Como Park ramai di akhir pekan, walau yg dine-in di sini gak banyak.

Healthy Cafe on Como Park. Their food is great, they cold brew coffee with oatmilk is also a highlight, you can chat with friend and watching dogs outside, I really like it there, one of my fav place in comopark

The 2 star was for the vegan options on the menu and the fresh lettuce. I had the vegan burrito bowl for to go (take away). The flavour was bland, it needed salt. It was pricey for the taste. At the end of my meal I was surprised by a piece of staple I found when I was chewing my food. Thank God I didn't swallow!

Tbh, better than Saladstop! Porsi cukup besar dan harga masih lebih murah. Tempatnya kecil tapi nyaman. Tapi sepertinya tidak dedesain untuk duduk berlama-lama. Kalau ada area outdoor akan lebih baik. Makanan lengkap, ada untuk semua, bahkan menu anak-anak ada. Salad bisa dipilih disajikan di bowl atau wrap. Ayamnya panggangnya enak! Jangan lupa untuk coba hangover soup. Bumbu makanan disini lebih ke Asia dengan rempah-rempah yang kuat, jadi cocok untuk lidah orang Indonesia. Tidak banyak dessert, karena sepertinya dessert ada dari vendor lain (Naked Bun) tapi kopi latte cukup enak. Jadi The Roots cocok untuk healthy quick brunch or lunch. Sayuran segar dengan pelayanan yang ramah.

It's very rare for me to find salad that's fulfilling, but for me, salads at The Roots are actually quite fulfilling. So I didn't leave the place hungry. Clean space, good service, and tasty salads. I haven't tried their wraps or rice bowls. Maybe next time. Another plus point, they have a clean restroom, too.

Rasanya lumayan enak. Aku setiap kali pesan yg caesar salad.tapi aku pesan 2x terakhir sore hari dikasihnya beda2.kadang sayurnya sedikit.kadang saos dan kacangnya sedikit.seperti tdk ada standar yg jelas.kalau saos dan kacang sedikit jadi tdk enak.seperti makan sayur mentah

Wah ternyata disini! Berhubung aku sula banget salad, jadi pas tau ada brand ini seneng sih jadi bisa coba dari tempat lain, alhasil jadi wishlistku. Pas banget lagi ke Como Park ini, aku beli TIKKA TIKKA SALAD. Aku sih ga masalah sama dressingnya soalnya suka aja sih curry dari yang biasa sampe strong lol. Minusnya adalah. DRESSING TERLALU SEDIKIT. Ada sayurnya juga ga kena dressing, ewh. Ayamnya berbumbu, matang dan meresap.

Fyi, disini kalau takeaway ada biaya tambahan buat packaging seharga 2.500 ya gaissss.

Cute little salad bar in Como Park Kemang. Mostly plant-based but they have chicken options too. Personal faves are the Chicken Dinner Wrap and Smokey Southwest Wrap. Their cold Matcha Latte with Oat Mylk also really hits the spot. The best part is that they’re dog-friendly!
