Sushi Kawana

The sashimi is fresh with decent selection of japanese fishes. The cooked food is delicious too. Prices are value for money.
Service is friendly and good. Definitely my go to comfort food japanese rest.

MOST AUTHENTIC SUSHI/SASHIMI PLACE
Sushi Kawana specializes in sushi and sashimi. The price tag is worthy of the taste. The cold soba also nice, along with the wagyu beef yakiniku (melted inside your mouth)

Actually wanted some okonomiyaki, but unfortunately the place is closed during this big holiday, so we decided to have some sashimi.

This is one of the oldest Japanese restaurants around the area that known as the little Tokyo district.

The place is small with some bar sittings area and some private dining rooms.

We order some sashimi, chawan mushi and tempura set.

Service was really good and attentive, iur sashimi taste great and fresh but in a smaller size, the tempura was also good but nothing special.

Price comparison to food quality is on the down side. To expensive.

Can choose to sit in a private room or sushi bar. Freshness is guaranteed. Clean place and knowledgeable staffs. Level 2 of this shophouse is for Izakaya.

They'd give us dessert at the end of our meal as one of their services, ocha is also free here.

So glad i’ve discovered one of the best authentic sushi place in town. It’s so fresh and worth every penny. You need to try their sashimi Will def come back

SUSHI KAWANA.

Pas masuk barengan sama rombongan kedubes Jepang, suasananya terang dan bersih. Paling mewah dibanding tempat lain yg kukunjungi kmrn.

Walaupun sempat diragukan sama waitressnya aku bisa bayar apa ga, overall ini makanannya paling juara di area blok M

I usually love this place a lot and only have nice things to say about their food. I have been here many times for different type of food including "omakase" but last night was a bit disappointing when I had 2 different group in the same place for dinner!

The food availability was bad and the service level was less than expected where we were actually there for birthday celebration. To be fair to them, we enjoyed whatever food that they have served especially their fresh Hokkaido Oyster, Unagi roll and love their daikon appetizer.

With this experience, shall have to reconsider for group celebration and bringing first time guests. Would just go back just with the regulars to ensure no bad experience.

Toro was so fresh like butter, ankimo (tuna) took me to heaven, and the unagi chirashi tasted so unique. ️

For such a price, we expected better experience. The staff talked casually each other (even gossiping) in front of customers. Feels like warteg

Packed with Japanese customers! Fresh sashimi, thick cuts, and really good tamagoyaki too (very very sweet so just have one as your last course). Very reasonable price.

Serving best Sashimi in my opinion, probably in Jakarta.
After trying sashimi here, eating at other Japanese restos, esp those ones in the mall, will never be the same again.

Not worth it. Our order took long and a bit expensive for the area (similar to Senopati). Nothing special in terms of the dishes for lunch that was about 450rb per person

Kalo suka authentic sushi sashimi, Kawana adalah destinasi terwajib yang harus dicoba.
Denger2 Chef Kawana ini adalah sesepuh yang melahirkan banyak sushi chef terkenal di Jakarta.

Wagilaseh.ada banyak jenis ikan di sini, termasuk yang high quality, dan fresh banget.
Walau agak pricey, tapi memang worth the price sih.
Potongan sushinya tebal, dan seasoning sushi rice nya perfect banget sih!

Rata2 di sini pake ikan import, jadi kalau kalian liat ada menu yang ga ada harga nya di buki menu, mending cek dulu.

Di luar sushi sashimi, ada Unagi yg enak banget! Teksturnya beda sama unagi pada umumnya. Luarnya bisa agak cruncy tapi dalemnya tetep lembut juice.yang pasti ini bukan unagi-unagi yang di jual di supermarket sih.

Buta Kakuni sama Salmon Teriyaki nya juga enak banget! Emang jago sih chef nya bikin racikan saos2nya.

Matcha Soba nya juga termasuk one of the best yang paling enak menurut gw.

Tempatnya bagus, private room kapasitas mini2 gitu.dan ada meja bar juga yang ga gede.

Restaurant Jepang ke-5 di Melawai yang saya coba. Very nice staffs, great Japanese ambience, and all food is so delicious, authentic taste, and also elegant services. Start from appetizer, main course, and dessert.

Kami pesan Sushi Sakura, it was so fresh cooked by the original chef dan pesan Kaisen Don Set. Free appetizer and dessert. Lumayan dessertnya ogura ice cream. We spent around 700k. Worth price to pay.

Saya makan di siang hari kebetulan kantor teman dekat dg rumah makan ini. Unaginya enak bgt, dapat free ocha dan ada greentea ice cream. I paket sekitar 300k. Pelayanannya ramah sekali dan suasananya tenang. Hanya jam 2 siang reatauran ini akan tutup dan akan dibuka kembali sore.

Even though it was in the middle of pandemic, Sushi Kawana was still full of customers. Luckily we (my husband, my son and I) were still able to get a private room for dinner

As usual, the food were very fresh and tasty with the best wasabi.

One of my favorite Japanese restaurants! They always serve the best and freshest ingredients. We ordered a lot but I forgot to capture the rest of dishes I ordered as we were drooling. I ordered Otoro (SUPER good), ama ebi (very good), Sukiyaki (a bit too sweet for me but friends liked it though), Chawanmushi (very good), salmon belly (very good), Ehire (pretty good), and many more dishes. Overall it was great. One thing I dislike, they always full of people (guess because this restaurant is good) and hard to find parking spot.

One of the best Japanese sushi/sashimi restaurant in Jakarta. Foods taste great in general. Set menus are well presented. Friendly staffs as well.

Tried the kawana sushi set lunch, I think its a good value for the quality & quanyity of food served. You got 7 nigiri sushi, 1 maki roll, tempura, soup & chawan mushi

Few highlights from the set:
- ootoro sushi: similar to those you can get in Tokyo. Melts in your mouth
- unagi sushi: probably my favorite, very smooth texture and just the right sweetness
- tamagoyaki

Exceptional quality and good service. You're getting what you pay for tho, if you know what I mean. It's probably easy enough to stay within a budget, but I fear being on an omad diet and breaking the fast with Sushi Kanawa is not the most sensible idea. Next time I'll go with the omukase.and I'm looking forward to it!
