One of the best Japanese restaurants! We tried a variety of dishes:

Our absolute favorite was the Oku Chicken Karage – probably the most delicious and unique karage ever. It's incredibly savory and crispy

We also had the Truffle Gyu Don – a generous amount of tender beef slices that paired perfectly with half-cooked egg. The truffle flavor wasn't very strong, though

Surprisingly, the Miso Soup was exceptionally good and full of umami

The Lobster Cawan Mushi didn't quite suit my taste because it had too much egg and a slightly fishy taste

The Oku Aburi Salmon was enjoyable, even though it wasn't particularly outstanding

The Tasmanian Salmon was incredibly delicious, crispy, and savory

As for the Mizu Water Mochi, it was like regular jelly – nothing special

The ambiance was pleasant, not too crowded, and the service was excellent!

For me, food is good but didn’t worth the price.
Presentation is great, vibe is really great thought it is saturday night, but we have a good space. This place is also baby friendly with them having a sound proof room
Service is perfect though they are short of manpower.

Karasumi Pasta - texture is unique and the angel hair is really thin and great
Gyu Udon - Broth is so good, with a little of yuzu taste
Chocolate lava cake - not like the normal lava cake that we expect but the combination of honey ice cream and lava cake is interesting

Been coming here a couple of times the last 2 months for guest chef event: Kanazawa and Apéritif. Very good food and very good service. In terms of atmosphere less than expected during our last dinner due to overflowing crowd from neighboring ballroom as well as a birthday party.

Japanese restaurant terbaik di Jakarta. Selalu order karage nya, ga bosen2. Pelayanan nya sangat memuaskan, kualitas makanan nya bagus, interior nya nyaman, dan rasa nya selalu enak. Agak kesulitan untuk parkir. Tapi overall, semua nya memuaskan.

I can tell that this is one of my favorite place to have dinner right in the heart of Jakarta.

The ambiance is stunning and staffs are very friendly too.

I don’t get what’s so great about this place. The food is very average, and extremely overpriced. The presentation is mediocre. And the space felt crowded and small — looks and feels like you usual breakfast buffet at a hotel. I tried the karage, which was completely black. I understand it’s supposed to be creative but it does not taste interesting. And I also had the teriyaki chicken, again, very average. Maybe their sushi or sashimi is good, but it is still overpriced for a place that looks like this. I was underwhelmed.

Very nice and classic Japanese restaurant. With fine taste and attractive presentation. Very good and friendly service and a nice private room. They helped us to prepare a projector and a screen for our meeting.

Beberapa hari lalu birthday dinner di OKU, reservasi 2 minggu sebelumnya dan ternyata tanpa deposit. Pertama masuk OKU ini yang pertama dirasain udah pasti rasa tenang dan nyaman dari design dalemnya. Gak heran sih, soalnya disini nerapin konsep Zen yang menenangkan dan nunjukkin keselarasaan dengan alam.

Btw kemarin ada beberapa menu yang dipesen yaitu Oku Karage, Donpeyaki, Bara Chirasi Don, Karasumi Pasta, Warabi Mochi, Strawberry Ginger, Houjicha Chocolate, Geisha Blossom Tea sama Watermelon & Mint Cooler.

• Oku Karage: Ini ayam karage dengan balsamic teriyaki sauce dalemnya, luarnya warna hitam charcoal. Untuk rasanya unik sih, dan ayamnya juga juicy dengan tekstur creamy secara keseluruhan.

• Donpeyaki: Japanese Omelette mirip kayak Okonomiyaki. Walau nothing special, tapi bisa lah buat bangkitin selera makan.

• Bara Chirasi Don: Dalemnya ada sashimi salmon, tuna, kanpachi, sama ada potongan jamur, pickled, soyu jelly, tobiko. Gurih banget nih rasanya, IMO ini menu paling enak diantara semuanya.

• Karasumi Pasta: Ini angel hair pasta yang punya rasa cukup unik terutama di bottarga-nya, overall rasanya gurih asin enak. Untuk porsi keliatan kecil, tapi ini tuh kayak digulung-gulung dengan padat banget.

• Warabi Mochi: Mochinya enak banget gila, isinya red bean & green tea namelaka. FYI, namelaka itu mirip sama ganache tapi teksturnya lebih lembut dan creamy.

• Strawberry Ginger: Cheese cakenya enak, lembut, manisnya, tapi bisa dinetralisir sama rasa asem dari sorbetnya.

• Houjicha Chocolate: Ini request yaa ada tulisan HBD-nya. Btw ini namelaka juga tapi chocolate, trus ada houjicha sama chestnut ice cream. Rasanya seger, manisnya gak lebay.

• Geisha Blossom Tea & Watermelon & Mint Cooler: Dua minuman ini sih so so, tapi cukup enak. Geisha blossom tea itu racikan green tea dengan aksen rasa buah-buahan segar, untuk watermelon & mint cooler ini isinya ada gomme sauce, citrus, mint.

Untuk harga masih standar fine dining restaurant, dengan 9 menu diatas totalnya IDR 1.318.900 (Include tax 11%). Untuk pelayanan bener-bener super high quality. Sangat membantu, friendly, informatif mengenai menu.

Kesini pas lagi pandemi. Bersih banget dan ngerasa aman soalnya piringnya dikasi dengan plastik jadi kita bukanya bisa pas mau makan. Trs jg disediain amplop buat naro masker.

Makanannya enak cmn untuk skrg sayang bgt lagi ga ada salmon tapi emang hampir semua resto lagi ga ada salmon untuk dijadikan sashimi.

Karagenya boleh dicoba, cmn pas pesen ke2x ternyata rasanya ga seenak pertama, sushinya standar, miso soupnya enak?

A pretty solid Japanese restaurant in Jakarta. We did in-room dining and the presentation was still impeccable. They use high quality ingredients and didn't disappoint.

If there is one thing that you should order, it'll definitely be the Truffle Gyu Don. The beef was tender and cooked to perfection. The truffle didn't overpower the entire dish, and the onsen egg mixed with the sauce was very creamy. The sauce itself was not overly sweet or rich. It also comes with tempura, sashimi, sushi and other side dishes. Most of them were pretty spot on, especially the prawn and scallop tempura. However, the tamago was a bit of a let down, as it was doused in too much sweet mayo. And some of the side dishes were also filled with cheese which ruined the entire bento set.

Another supposedly popular dish is the Aburi Salmon. We felt like it was a hit and miss. While the salmon was grill-torched to perfection, the mayo killed the entire dish. It was way too sweet and a little bit too spicy for Japanese sushi (maybe the sauce was adjusted for Indonesian palate). The sushi rice wasn't the greatest we've tried too.

Overall, it was still a pleasant experience and will definitely try more dishes in the future. The price point is a little bit high for Indonesia, but I guess the service and quality of the ingredients justified it. If they could perfect some of the small points above, it would definitely be a 5-stars experience.

Asked for truffle gyu don and sashimi. What came was udon and sashimi. For a so called premium restaurant y’all need q tips for your ears.

The omekase tonight was quite good. The sushi course was especially excellent. The wagyu was not quite up to snuff, and the dessert was nothing special. Service was quick and efficient.

The screaming children running around were not a welcome surprise. The a/c was running way to cold and the decor is a bit sterile.

I would go back, but Oku isn't really on my list for special occasions.

If you want to experience the real Japanese food & ambiance, there’s other places that can offer you a much better quality Japanese food in Jakarta.
It’s truly such a disgrace to Japanese culture.
Sushi was dry. Truffle Gyu Don was bland. The food was sub par for a restaurant in a 5 stars hotel.
It’s a pretentious Japanese restaurant.

Ordered charcoal karage, Salmon roll and Unagi rice bowl to share. They all tasted fantastic.

Masakannya enak dan suasananya pun nyaman. Saya sangat merekomendasikan wagyu sandwichnya. Dagingnya sangat empuk dan berasa.
