The worst experience ever. Any instructor on a beach is better than their instructors. Don’t waste your time. You just overpay for beautiful design. That’s all they have

The best Surf camp I stayed ever! 10 out of 10 ️

The rooms are great, specious and clean. Housekeeping team was always asking if I need anything or checking up on my feedback.
Actually, I have to say staff in the camp just incredible. They make you feel like a part of a family, very welcoming and surf instructors are making each class fun and enjoyable.

Would definitely recommend! Next time I’m in Bali this would be my choice

Loved this place!
Came there as a beginner who never surfed before and can tell that the instructors were really nice and helpful. The place is super clean and beautiful, they cleaned the rooms every day.
I actually never left the accomodation except to go out for dinner.
There is a large selection of food you can choose for breakfast and lunch and it was always really delicious.
Every employee there is truly friendly and helpful and I had a fun time with them:)
The place is a bit remote from the center of Canggu, but that’s not a problem as you can just rent a scooter or simply book a grab and it’s just a 5 minute walk to the Berawa beach!

I had a short stay here. The hotel itself is stunning and the staff are all lovely and friendly. I cannot believe Roy (patience of a saint) managed to get me up by the second day in something which was way out of my comfort zone. The breakfast was surprisingly delicious and plentiful (not always the case when included with the stay). My only gripe is there’s a lot of construction around so if you arrive early morning or late at night expect to walk 10-15 minutes with your luggage because no taxi can get to you. A little noisy at night too because of this + the mega club round the corner.

Also a suggestion would be to have a little local POI / useful hints for the receptionist to refer to. She was very helpful in suggesting a good money exchange to use, but after talking to a few others, there were a few of the same shop closer to home.

Overall a lovely short break and I’d be back for more.

I hate leaving this place 3 stars, but unfortunately, I have a few reasons for this.
Let me start with good things first.
The premises are exactly the way they look in the picture, it is a truly gorgeous place where you can have very delicious breakfast daily. I stayed in a girls dorm, and even though usually it is not my style of accomodation, I didn't mind it at all. It is very clean, beds are very comfortable, bathrooms are well thought through. If you like yoga, it takes place daily. You can have your laundry cleaned, you can get a rash guard and shorts too.

Now let me explain why my experience didn't match my expectations.
I was really looking forward to improving my surfing skills. Even though prior to my arrival I was asked what my surfing level was, I was still placed in the white water group with absolute beginners. I tried to speak to instructors, but in vain. I was still downgraded with my big board on white foam while the day before I was in Uluwatu on a more advanced board in the middle of the ocean. What's the point of asking then? It felt really demotivating because over the past months I've invested lots of time and money into improving my surfing skills. Second, I really expected that I would finally learn some more theory. I thought that in a camp, people would usually learn more about waves, tides, or how to read the charts. However, the only theory class they had was for absolute beginners and it was super short. When I booked my accommodation, I also read that they had surf fitness classes three times a week. I only stayed there for three days, but there was no surfing fitness on any of those days. I am not a fan of yoga, but I was really sold on that surf fitness.which never bappened. When I asked the staff about the class, I didn't get any clear reply. I came to this surf camp with the only objective which was to surf and get better at it. This is why I left very disappointed. It seemed like a great place to hangout and chill, but my surfing expectations were not met.
And yes, there was no ice for two days, so no iced beverages were available at the bar.
I hope that moving forward these things will be taken into consideration so that people get what they pay for in terms of surfing.

Been to Bali 7 times already and this is one of the best stays I’ve had. Super friendly staff, very stylish and clean rooms and common space and an amazing bar & restaurant. I’ll be back for sure!

Most amazing 2 weeks I’ve spent in Bali thanks to wavehouse
It’s an incredible place with lovely staff who will do everything to make you feel at home.
I stayed in the girls shared room and it was really clean and spacious. The breakfast every morning was delicious and the servers really nice.
Thank you also to the amazing surfcoaches and videographers, i really saw my surf improve in 2 weeks!
I will definitely come back next time i come to bali
Thank you very much!

I was super nervous about coming solo but everyone made me feel totally at ease. I was there for 8 days.

Friendly local staff (also, the ability to WhatsApp the front desk is fantastic).

Organised dorms - assigned lockers, wardrobes, laundry baskets, etc.within the room. Wi-Fi is great.

Lovely international atmosphere - met great people from France, South Korea, Canada, China, the UK, Russia, etc.

Plenty of space to do your own thing. I’m really introverted but never felt forced to get involved in the camp’s group social activities.

Instructors give clear directions and if you’re actually serious about improving your surfing (and not just taking this as another experience to tick off your bucket list), they’re very encouraging and helpful towards this. Ask as many questions as possible, learn a few words of Bahasa, pay attention during the video analysis, work on the feedback you’re given!

Food is great (I ordered the vegetable lasagne three times) and the breakfast is delicious, substantial and incredibly good value.

It’s a bit frustrating that the surf locations for beginners classes are an hour’s drive from the camp (due to traffic), but you get used to it.

Wish the two pools were lap pools, and there was more space to skate haha but those are just personal preferences I guess.

Don’t forget to bring your own water bottle! And make sure to budget for the surfboard insurance, payable upon check-in.

Only good things to share about Wake House!
The in house and front desk staff are class. Check in was a breeze. Nice quiet location with a Warung within 5 mins walk. Stayed in the females dorm which was always clean and were really nice rooms. Only thing is the bunk beds can be quite squeaky.when we go to sleep and wake at different timings it does wake others up. Other than that location is quiet and the accommodation is a really good price for everything included.

Surf timing is up on boards around 3pm the day before. Beginners classes generally are at Kuta beach around noon. Instructors are good with correcting you on the spot and some are really encouraging. Breakfast is included which is lovely!

And you don’t get to surf day of check in, but day of check out is included. In my case my flight was at 2pm. And they scheduled me for 1.30pm lessons which I asked if they could put me in the 7am class which they helpfully obliged- so managed to get the check out day surf in too!

A surf camp which felt like home! The instructors were amazing - especially Alex Tod, Roy, Nando and Wayan. Also the bar staff including Aldo. I would definitely come back. The video analysis sessions are great for learning

I think this school is the best. Nice trainers, nice spots they drive you to. Overall interior is also good. However, my room was not as fresh as I expected it to be, but still nice. Breakfasts were also tasty. Yoga class was also great. So I can recommend this place.

I chose to stay in dorm room as I was travelling alone and wished to communicate with other travellers. I was impressed by the design and functionality of this type of accommodation, and the bath zone was simply great (girls will understand).
Breakfasts were amazing: I tried all 10 (!) varieties and it was really hard to choose which ones I would like to taste once again. Personnel was friendly and always ready to help. Surf lessons were intense and took place every day (I even had to skip sometimes just to have some rest and travel across the island).

The room is very spacious and comfortable. It's nicely design. Though, the air cond in my room was quite warm although it was at the lowest temperature. Perhaps, it needs some repair / maintenance.

The facilities were great and thoughtful. Water refill station, yoga deck, common area to eat, chill or work, swimming pool, public shower area before getting to room, etc.

The location was a bit secluded from main area hence will have to spend a bit on Grab Bike to get around. But I think it's okay.

The surfing instructors, I think they can be more attentive to the students. I didn't feel that I progressed much in my surfing. Every surfing session seems to have different instructor assigned. On my first lesson, instructor didn't take time to first understand my surf level. We went straight to surfing and catching wave. I thought it'd be better for the instructor to have a chat with students to get a better understanding before starting to surf. After surf class, the instructors did not proactively explain how we can improve in surfing based on our surfing session. They will only respond or explain further if we ask questions. I wished the instructors were more proactive in checking on the students too.

Would absolutely recommend Wave House! We had an incredible 5 night stay in the double room with beginner surf lessons everyday. Everyone involved was so friendly from reception, to waiters, surf instructors and photographers, and the yoga instructor. There was also an unbelievably good breakfast included with the room.

This place is by far the best surf camp I've stayed. They have thought of every detail. The rooms are great, the staff super friendly and always willing to assist. The surf lessons were divided in different levels with great instructors.
Breakfast is at the level of the fancy bali cafes with a great menu to choose from.
