The Tipsy Gypsy Hostel

Amazing hostel, the staff is amazing and so friendly, I’ve never experienced anything like it in my travels. The staff are the ones breaking the ice between people, they are joining in on all the fun, drinking games, conversation and so on, they really make the place feel like home. You really don’t some sort of connection to the staff if you’re an open and forthcoming person. It was absolutely an amazing experience.

Great place and very sociable! Staff are super friendly as well. Rooms were clean and bathroom/toilet was fine. Only downside is you can’t adjust the aircon below 25°C

The worst hostel experience I had. I knew it was a party hostel so I expected partying and drinking - which is fine, but what was not fine was a couple of absolutely drunk Brits barging into the room at 2 am, turning on the lights shouting and pestering people. I felt really uncomfortable.
The staff was really apologetic and changed my dorm.
Unfortunately, next day someone stole all my cash from the "locker" (which can be easily accessed from the other side by moving the bed) and took details of my cards and tired to use them online.
The hostel offers zero security, anyone can access and the "lockers" are obviously a joke.
After these two occurrences I didn't feel like socializing with the drunk crowd anymore. I really wish I chose a different hostel, because this experience really spoiled my time in Canggu.

Nice located. Super central to reach many restaurants spas etc in walking distance plus super cool crowd who was staying there. Had a great time. Big thx to fantastic staff. Will be back for sure

The rooms are spacious and the lockers are big enough for two backpacks. The bed was comfortable but there were stains in it. Also the bathroom wasn't very clean.

Besides that it's a good party hostel in Canggu, the staff is fun and helpful and the bar and pool are nice. Next door is another hostel where you can eat and rent a bike.

This is simply one of my favorite hostels I’ve came across my trip. Tipsy gipsy is such an social hostels that you never fail to make new friends. Thank you Steph, Zaki, Sena & Yudi for making my six days at tipsy gipsy so special. Can not wait to come back!

Excellent place - friendly, welcoming, clean, and fun staff. Everyone is always in a good mood here because of the great staff.

THE BEST hostel in Canggu. Have had such a good time here! I keep going back haha. The owner and staff are soooo fun, friendly and full of advice for what to do in the area. I love how the hostel is so social and really strives to include everyone. Have made lifelong friends here!:)

This is my favourite hostel in Canggu by far. We've been coming here for years and it never disappoints. The value for money is crazy and I've recommended Tipsy Gypsy to so many friends. People end up staying so much longer than planned and it's easy to see why. Trust me - you'll love it!

Probably THE best hostel I’ve stayed at in Bali. The beds are super comfortable, everything is always clean, the staff is amazing and the owner Steph personally makes sure, that everyone always has a good time. Can’t recommend it enough especially if you want to stay for a longer period

Tipsy Gypsy is the best hostel in Canggu especially if you're a solo traveller and want to make friends. The place is like one big family and I was super happy with the quality of the rooms. They sell really affordable drinks and there is always something going on. Couldn't recommend more!

Very clean, the service was nice, the owner was friendly and very helpful she gave tips to improve our travel and also knew how to make everyone feel comfortable and have a great time drinking We had a very pleasant stay! The staff are also exceptional, felt like I was leaving a new family made in Bali. Best hostel! Fully recommend

My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights, the vibe was social and friendly, and the hosts were perfectly charming/amazing. It’s a perfect place to stay if you’re just flying into Bali, as you’ll get accustomed to the party vibes straight away. Also check out Old Man’s for clubbing/dancing. 5/5

Stayed there with my partner for almost a week.
Staff are super friendly and accommodating and always down for a game of something.
It does get loud but 11pm sharp they cut it off and get everyone either out the door or in the dorms so can't really fault them.
Location is pretty solid too with the cheapest coffee so far right out the back in the alley.

It’s so loud. One of the loudest hostels I’ve stayed at around the world actually because there are literal holes in the walls so there is nothing blocking your room from the loud drunken people in the “lobby”. This is a party hostel - so I knew what I was getting into, but with the specific construction of the buildings, it’s just impossible to keep out bugs and sound. I stayed at Lushy before this and honestly wish I stayed there because it party and then quiet in the rooms.

This place is also not easy to find with their lack of signage in the alley. Just walk until you find all the scooters then you go down and turn left through some doors. The construction of this building being so open to the bugs and elements and sound just make it rough to love the hostel compared to others in the area. That being said - the location is killer. You aren’t ON the main road making it easier to get a Grab and just maneuver. 10/10 on location. 10/10 on the size of these lockers, I saw a girl with a giant checked roller bag that was stored in these lockers. Beds have personal outlet, light, and curtains, making privacy easier in a mixed dorm, but the beds are not comfortable and the bunks in my room are so janky and not close to the wall so the guy on the top bunk dropped things on me multiple times - so 7/10. Bathroom is 6/10 because of the bug situation and it’s just not the best bathroom setup. Honestly it’s pretty gross, and the shower doesn’t drain while using it.

Awesome hostel! The most comfortable beds I have ever slept in, in hostels! Very friendly staff, very good atmosphere, I felt welcome from the very first moment! The location is also good and I would definitely come back again!

The tipsy Gypsy is great! Steph and her staff are the best, helpful and personable. They have a little family there and everyone is welcome. Even though it’s a party hostel, I slept well! People are respectful and I never worried about my belongings. 10/10 would recommend for a good time in Canggu! Thanks Gypsies
