The Samaya Ubud Bali

We had such a relaxing and tranquil experience at The Samaya hotel, staying in the Hill Side Villa for 10 days. Our villa had everything you may need, beautiful views, kind and thoughtful housekeeping and butler.

Facilities at Samaya are also second to none, with the restaurant on site serving delicious food, tried all the cocktails, breakfast service was always refreshing and delicious. Big shout out to the hotel staff who really take the beautiful hotel, facilities and surroundings to the next level. Nothing is ever too much trouble, they are kind and considerate, and always stay for a chat and to make us feel at ease.

Definitely recommend a visit to The Samaya Ubud, it's a great retreat away from the hustle of Ubud square which feels like a different world from the experience this hotel offered ️

We just did the cooking class with Head Chef Agus - it was incredible. The day started with a trip down to the local market where he explained some of the local produce and shared his love of white mangoes with us! After serving the fruits to us at breakfast we are also now huge fans! He made us feel like VIPs in his kitchen, showing us the ingredients and techniques used to make some of our favourite dishes on the menu! He was a great teacher and we all helped to make an amazing and tasty meal. I would definitely do this again, the variety of menu choices would make it a different food adventure! And we got some adorable aprons as a memento. Cannot recommend this experience enough, it has been a highlight of our stay!

The Samaya Ubud is a fabulously maintained complex. Our Hill Side Villa is clean and well maintained. The room and garden are maintained twice a day (morning and evening), which makes us feel very comfortable at all times.

Not only was the welcome very warm, the entire staff was always friendly and open to us.

Putu, the hotel manager, is a wonderful host and in various conversations with him we always felt very comfortable and welcome. We exchanged ideas about various activities and so he told us a few nice places to visit and we were happy to tell him about our trips. He didn't know some places himself and so the exchange was always a win-win for everyone.
Thanks to the great teamwork of all employees, from reception to buggy drivers, service staff, cooks, gardeners, maintenance and the security team at the entrance (I hope we didn't forget anyone), our stay will be unforgettable.

The food is delicious and we can only recommend everyone to enjoy this beautiful atmosphere at least by visiting the restaurant.

If you want to explore Bali without a tour, this is a wonderful starting point. If you are on a Bali tour, you can treat yourself to a wonderful break and let yourself be pampered.

One of the best hotels I have and will ever stay at. Service was absolutely incredible- we felt so lucky to be there and every staff member was so unbelievably friendly, from the gardeners to the hotel manager who made an effort to come say hi at breakfast or at reception each day.

The room was pristine and incredibly beautiful. Breakfast was also superb and we were even encouraged to get extra dishes to treat ourselves. It’s also super easy to get into town. The restaurant is also excellent.

An unforgettable experience.

What a wonderful 4 days we spent in Samaya Ubud in October 2023. We thoroughly enjoyed the space and the privacy of our villa with its private pool and garden. Having breakfast overlooking the mountains and the rice fields was so unique. We also enjoyed the afternoon teas and dinners in the resort restaurant and we took advantage of having a specially organised romantic dinner in such a beautiful location. Komang and his staff could not have done more for us to make our stay so special.

We stayed 3 nights at the Samaya in Ubud and it was an experience that we never forget! The staff was amazing, so friendly and helpful! The rooms were always clean and the food was delicious!

The best experience of Bali and it’s hospitality. From location, to the golf car ride, from the wonderful breakfast, lunch and dinner to the nature, it was experience that left us happy inside.

There is free shuttle to the Ubud centre at designated time.

Villas themselves are gorgeous, ours was Mountain view and absolutely loved the morning view of Batur volcano. Private Pool and the jacuzzi was fantastic to be active.

Food is deliciously served with the top Bali service with smile. Felt always at home with their fine hospitality. Breakfast options are fantastic, though didn’t have lunch, the dinner experience was top notch. High tea was also a good surprise.

They helped us with arranging good tour of Ubud and surroundings and the final day we enjoyed the complimentary photo shoot and loved it so much.

The attention given to your needs is the best we enjoyed. My wife being a vegetarian, they always remembered to provide the right recommendations (they have a separate vegetarian menu).

All in all our stay at “The Samaya, Ubud” was the best decision for 2022. Will always recommend it for stay in Ubud.

The people are what made our stay at the Samaya outstanding! We went as a family group - 7 people, 2 villas - children being 7,14,17. There was never a request unanswered- such sweet and accommodating staff in every position- front reception, buggie drivers, restaurant staff, chef that provided special requests, spa personnel - clean professional and skilled
The group that cleaned our Villa- I called them “ the Ninjas” because they always seemed to know where we were on the property and would slip stealthily in and out making everything perfect:) prior to our return.
Just wonderful and highly recommended! Beautiful location and well cared for in every respect. Well done!

Great hotel. It's starting to age slightly but it is very well staffed and the villas are vert spacious and well laid out. The gardens are beautiful. The pools in the villa are large for a private pool but as there is no communal pool it makes sense. However the private pool is quite deep its 1.8 meters and for shorter guests they will not be able to stand.
The only thing that I didn't really like is that I stayed for 8 nights and the breakfast gets boring. It's a set menu and although it's very good quality of food the selection gets extremely repetitive.

Hi I’m Tim. I visited with my girlfriend on 15 September. We had a 2 hour massage, candle light dinner and a fabilous time in our hillside villa. All of the staff were professional and very friendly and really cared that we had a good time. Cant recommend the Samaya at Ubud high enough! Oh, and my girlfriend became my Fiance before we left. Thanks Samaya! We’ll be back:)

We kicked off our honeymoon at Samaya and it was spectacular. The service is out of this world—everyone is so kind and accommodating. Get ready to relax and unwind!

"We were after a fortnight of winter getaway, far from
the hustle and bustle but still within easy access to
town or sights. SAMAYA UBUD was the ideal choice.
The hotel, comprising of several standalone villas, is
spread over a very well maintained hillside compound
along the river Ayung, overlooking mountains and rice
fields. - Motorised buggies are at the guests' disposal
to access reception and restaurants. - The villas cater
for every need; extra king beds, spa bath and double
vanities, multiple tvs, as well as comfortable seating
arrangements. - The hotel rooms were serviced twice a
day in an immaculate manner, even the dishes were
professionally cleaned (dishwasher). - The secluded
and nightly lit garden incorporates a well-cleaned
pool, a gazebo and a fountain feature with goldfish.
The breakfast spread (inclusive) is to die for, makes up
for a daily meal. - Dinners at the Swept-away restaurant
were delicious and varied: and while we have not tried
ourselves, we have seen several couples part-taking in
romantic candle-lit degustation dinners right by the
river, hidden from prying eyes. - Service was
impeccable, the staff remembering our names and
welcoming with smiles. - There is a well-equipped gym
and a recently re-opened spa with a variety of services
offered. - And once tired of too much relaxation, the
regular daily shuttles to town (~20 minutes) give easy
access to shopping and/or outings.

WE LOVED OUR STAY HERE AND WILL BE BACK.

The Samaya in Ubud was a spectacular place to unwind. Our only negative was that we didn’t get to stay longer! The staff and hospitality was exceeding our expectations. The food and service was brilliant. We even splurged on the 100 candlelight dinner and the restaurant staff and manager were beyond fantastic. They went above and beyond and the location by the river to sit and dine with some of the best food we had on our trip was well worth it and we highly recommend it. The accomodation was 6/5 stars from the private pool, spa, outdoor yet enclosed shower and amenities. Everything was perfect.

My husband and I had an amazing stay at The Samaya Ubud. We spent 3 nights at the Ayung Villa and did not want to leave! The villa is very spacious, clean and well maintained – with just the right balance between modern and Balinese style decor. The bathroom is huge and equipped with a private jaccuzi. There is also a 1.8m-deep private swimming pool that is quite large. The hotel consists of a number of villas and they are a fair distance away from the reception area, but a buggy service is provided to transport guests back and forth from their villas.

The Samaya Ubud has a beautiful scenery and is centrally located, it is only about 15-minute drive away from local attractions such as the Ubud Monkey Forest and Saraswati Temple. A free shuttle service from the hotel to Ubud Central is provided.

The service was impeccable, every single one of the staff that we met during our stay was extremely friendly and helpful. We had informed the hotel that we were visiting Bali to celebrate my birthday / our honeymoon, and they provided us with complimentary wine, decorated our room with flowers, and even surprised me with a cake on my birthday (right after we checked out & just before we left!) We felt very well looked-after throughout our stay here and we could tell that they truly served from the heart.

One of the highlights of our stay was the romantic candlelit dinner at the Swept Away restaurant overlooking the Ayung River. The 7-course dinner was delicious, and the staff were very attentive throughout the dinner. We couldn’t finish everything and they helped to pack the remaining food and delivered them to our room. The dinner set up was very beautiful – the staff went above and beyond with the set up, placing 100 candles around the dining area, even at the riverbank! They also kindly helped us take many photos and videos to capture this unforgettable moment.

We really loved our stay at The Samaya Ubud, and we are hoping to go back there one day. We highly recommend this hotel for those looking for a place to stay in Ubud, especially for couples!

Bintang 5 sih ini, pelayanannya sangat baik dan ramah sekali, benar-benar membuat liburan amat berkesan:) ditambah dengan manager hotel yang benar-benar care.
Kamarnya sangat luas, dilengkapi dengan jacuzzi dan private swimming pool yang membuat stay jadi lebih seru! Kalau ingin mencari suasana untuk healing di Ubud, jangan ragu-ragu untuk stay di sini:)

Everything about this resort is perfect. The staffs were all friendly and very welcoming. We stayed at the Ayung Villa and it was superb! Comfy bed, large bathroom with jacuzzi (and TV!), and the private pool is larger than most private pool villas. The food is also excellent. We will definitely be back.
