Seki Tei Sushi & Kushiyaki

I love the sushi! Chewy, melted, thicker and bigger compared to the other sushi restaurants I've been to.
Tamago Nigiri surpised me! The best tamago Nigiri I ever had
Ocha is also so good, free refill

Ramen taste good, I ordered Tori Tantan Ramen, noodle is chewy soup is so yummy and not too spicy.
Ajitsuke tamago is just perfect

They gave us free Konyaku/Jelly, I guess its lemon/lime with lemongrass flavour?
Idk, but what I remember it was so yummy, not too sweet, slightly sour and refreshing. Perfect dessert after having sashimi, it makes your mouth fresh again.
We love it.

The ambience is just so
I went there around 9pm, and there wasn't many customer. It was quiet, so comfortable.
Toilet is clean.
All the Staff is so friendly.

The service here is absolutely terrible. We had to wait a total of two hours for all of our food to be served for a table of six. (Only 2 other people in the restaurant) We tried to cancel food that was ordered an hour prior, and she said "it is ready now, " and then 35 minutes later she tried to serve us that food we canceled. After serving it to our table, as it was refused, she served it to another table and put it on their bill. Now, at this point in time, one person still did not have the food she ordered when we were first seated! (This was not one of the canceled orders)

When we ordered our drinks we also asked for drinking water and she returned empty handed and told our table of six we are only allowed water "for two person. " This is incredibly bizarre.

Also, she would serve food without utensils and we had to ask for everything multiple times, like a spoon, fork, bowl, napkins, etc.

The server is incredibly incompetent and I don't know what was going on in the kitchen. They had two chefs working but couldn't seem to keep up with orders from only two tables.

I think what happened was our server forgot most of our orders, and when we finally canceled, that is when she entered the orders into the system.

I've been a customer for years, but I haven't been coming very often since Covid. Everything was great.
Last night, I went there again and ordered Chu Toro, which is a sashimi made from the fat belly of the tuna. Initially, they kept me waiting for around 15 minutes. Then, a friendly waiter came to me and explained that I needed to wait for about 5 more minutes because the tuna was still frozen and needed time to thaw.

I was surprised at this point because I was expecting to get fresh tuna, which I believe is supposed to be the case. In less than 5 minutes, the sashimi was served on my table.

However, they didn't provide me with any wasabi, which is a basic accompaniment for sashimi. I looked for it on my table, but couldn't find any. So, I asked the waiter for some wasabi.

When I took a bite, I was even more surprised to find that the tuna was still frozen in the middle and tasted strange. It didn't smell bad, but I've never had frozen sashimi like that before. There were 4 thick slices, and I managed to eat 2 of them before deciding to take the rest to go. I didn't want to spend more time waiting for the tuna to thaw.

When I asked them to wrap up the remaining sashimi, they seemed somewhat silent. Maybe they felt bad, but this experience wasn't good. I would have been fine with eating it if it had been served well, even if it had been frozen before. I still paid, but I left feeling disappointed with the frozen tuna.

Finally, the waiter apologized to me, but this doesn't make up for the poor service I received.

Place is nice, calm and clean. Staff are friendly. Food is amazing. Their matcha ice cream is so recommended after a big meal.

The fish is not fresh at all. After a bite, my friend got food poison and suffering from stomache

Our go to Sushi restaurant for the past 5 years, have thoroughly enjoyed almost every experience seems to have a 'cold'.
Sushi rice was mushy, service lacked it normal efficiency, had to repeat things many times and then things were slow.
The centre of the rolls are getting smaller and smaller.
The tempura lacked it normal crunch, was not bad, but was not its normal high quality.

UPDATE 2023: a bit disappoiinting to see many of the prices go up. For the salmon dish, they should consider the dish accompanied with rice because rice alone is 20k per person, more than the price of the extra side salad we purchased.

Our favorite! Food is clean and delicious. Quiet atmosphere. Staff are fantastic! We love it here!

Found this hidden gem Japanese Restaurant, it was really good service was friendly, food taste delicious and good quality.
Price was affordable and fair.

Had dinner with the family. A very small place yet served amazing and tasty Japanese food. I personally recommend Seki Tei. Service is good, good food, good value.

However, you'll need to be a bit patient with the food. It takes time for them to prepare the food. Especially when they have more than 15 customers at the same time.

Love the food in here, all sashimi, sushi, roll and rice bowl is delicious. Only ramen not suit to my taste bud but now they have abura soba that is delicious

Portions are 1/3 the size as the photos, they just stuff the inside with rice, overpriced underdelivered.

Nice looking Japanese restaurant, green tea, tempura and udon had a great taste, especially the dashi.
But the vegetarian curry was not that good, never had beans, corn and peas in an authentic Japanese curry. But the gravy is pretty much authentic.

Seki Tei’s chicken teriyaki and cheese bacon maki are the best! This place has become my mandatory to visit when in Badung.

Saya dan teman2 pesan tokujyo nigiri (sushi) dan soba, rasa sushinya gak enak banget. Kami pecinta sushi dan baru ini nemu sushi dengan harga yang terbilang cukup mahal tp bahannya gak fresh. Kecewa berat. Sampai minta dimatangin saking amisnya ​but still rasanya bener2 gak enak. Kalau sobanya nothing special.
Cuman tempatnya kecil dan nyaman, bersih, dan sepi jadi enak untuk ngobrol sama temen2. Balik lagi? Big big noo

Never come at this restaurant. The quality is bad. And the quantities do not correspond to the photos, it is a big scam.

Just went to this place. Two servers and only one table occupied in the restaurant. Took them 10 minutes to bring me a menu. Then they never came back to take my order, one waitress was taking the order of a table that came 10 minutes after me, the other one was standing at the counter texting on her phone. So I just left, I am not going to pay a mandatory 5% service charge for no service.

It has the most legit Japanese dishes I've ever tasted. I ordered a bowl of Katsu-don and one plate of Yellow-tail sushi. Both dishes were amazing. I also tried one piece of the Salmon roll, and it is so good. The place itself is cozy and clean. It is not crowded, and that's good. I will definitely visit this place again. 5 stars.
