16Before going to the trail, I was a little embarrassed because the access road was narrow. There are not many rice terraces, but Jalan Jalan is good for walking. There are also cafes along the way. The picture looks better than it looks
A stunning stunning walk with great views, kind smiles and places for refreshments on the way.
This walk a few minutes from the center of ubud remains preserved from the flow of tourists. We quickly find ourselves alone in the rice fields, in the middle of a magnificent landscape!
Nice rice fields and locally styled buildings / villas views. Though mainly expected to be for walking, some bikes ride here and a bit more compared to Sweet Orange trail (parallel one not far, but shorter)
Loved this trail trough the rice fields. I really loved the views. Also there were many options to drink and eat something along the way. The only thing that bothered me where all the scooters. The view and rice fields made up for it but just prepare on some disturbance along the way
Amazing walk! Much better then the - more popular - path next to it. It offers beautiful views on the rice paddies and comes across a lot of beautiful shops and good restaurants to lunch, dine or drink a coffee. Definitely a recommendation!
Much better experience than the other more famous walks (which were disappointing to say the least). This walk made me feel at peace and one with nature. Beautiful serene views with no sound other then the field workers and occasional motorists that bike past you. It goes on for a while and there are plenty of rest stops along the way. I would be wary of the artist woman near the front of the trail as she is just trying to make you feel guilty and pressured to buy something. When she finally gets the message she goes total silence and ignores you. The batik painter about halfway through though on the left, HE was awesome and kind:)
Endless photo opportunities here
Lovely walk with two different routes, less busy than the ridge walk and a bit longer, stunning few of rice fields and passing by cute artistic shops. Favourite walk/hike around Ubud.
Only 5 mins next to the busy roads there is this small road where you can walk, see beautiful rice fields and palms. With a lot of places to sit and eat.
Very beautiful, and rustic. You really see them work, you see ducks, cottages. I hope they stop all construction in the area and preserve it!
Did this walk this morning at 8: 30 we loved it. I have put some pics on of the start area so you can find where to turn as it's not that clear with so many signs. Yes there are bikes up and down all the time but the further you walk the quieter it gets. We really enjoyed it, stopped for a couple of coffees and drinks on the way and bought some art and jewellery too. Nice flat walk and not many tourists so perfect for us. Loads of ducks in the rice fields and farmers working. Really great little walk not sure if you can keep going and come out somewhere but we just walked untill we'd had enough and went back the same way.
Wonderful walk. We set off early morning (straight after breakfast) so to avoid any potential crowds. Plenty of cafes dotted around so you could easily stop for breakfast or lunch en route.
First did this walk about 10 years ago, the surounds have changed somewhat, there are certainly more villas, warungs and motorbikes than before, but if you keep going past that you can still experience daily life of Balinese farmers. The morning I went the ducks were out and about digging around the empty rice paddies, and I was lucky to see a group being herded from one area to another.
Hidden gem! Much better and less transited than Champuhan. It's about 30 minutes end to end, you'll get to walk through beautiful small cafes and villas, plus different fields and traditional arts shops. One of the best walks I've had in Ubud.
I was exploring Ubud's many alleys with my motorcycle when i stumbled upon this path thru paddy fields. I didn't know it's a tourist attraction we are supposed to experience walking. The ride was scary for me because of the narrow path for my bike, with cliff on one or both sides. I won't ride a bike thru it again, but I'm glad i tried it once. It was an adventure i will remember and tell many people.
We only (sadly) discovered this late in our stay. There are guesthouses, restaurants, cafes, rice paddies, art galleries and we don’t even know what else – we just absolutely loved this walk and wish we’d found it earlier.
We loved watching the ducks get excited about running through the paddies, we loved the historical houses and we loved the thought of visiting all these café’s next time around!
Far fewer tourists, but still boasting Ubud's natural beauty! A sure winner.
