Rip Curl School of Surf

Hello. There are 2 of us and we would like to pre-book SUP SURFING lessons and board rental for February 9th and 10th, 2024. I'm asking because I don't know how to make a reservation.

This place exceeded our expectations.our instructor Surya was absolutely the best.gave us personal feedback each day, got us on smaller SUP surf boards & was so encouraging.the rest of the staff were also heaps friendly - great atmosphere.we’ll be coming back

I would give them 5 Stars! I took three lessons for foiling class. My instructor Suriya was amazing. Professional and good teacher. Now I'm able to foil everywhere with confidence. Thank you Suriya.

Very friendly and helpful staff. I had a great lesson with instructor Lolo. I was here in winter „no wind“ season. The days we could not kite due to weak wind, got fully refunded. I recommend anyone to book a lesson here, their response time over whatsapp is very fast. They are well organised as a Team.

If you want to rent quality boards, with a wide range of choices and with really good instructors, you have to go here. You pay more than the others but the quality is perceived. The only place where I was able to pay by credit card and not with the usual cash.

Great experience learning how to kitesurf! The fact that they use a boat means that you spend a lot more time in the water actually learning. Lolo and Kipli were super friendly and amazing instructors! I will definitely be back! Many, many thanks again to Lolo and Kipli (and all the staff)!

Usually spend time here kiting while I’m in Sanur, so this time I decided to take a lesson package to learn to tow foil and kite foil and polish up my winging a bit.
I was so happy with Surya, my instructor. He’s so patient and kind, and got me up kite foiling in 2 lessons and taught me so much for winging in light wind.
The vibe here is great, its so good to meet lots of like minded people and the staff are all super friendly and helpful.
Can’t wait to return next year, thanks again Surya, you’re a gem!

What a professionally run program, placing safety above all else. I highly recommend them for your priceless moments.

Overpriced. It turns to be around 120$
/2h but for a group lesson with
2 other people. Same price I faced for a private 1-1 lesson across different countries (Turkey, Montenegro), so I managed to find a reasonable price going a bit further to Martasari beach - there is a Kite & Surf Bali ON LINE SHOP, they also provide private lessons which cost less than a group lesson at Rip Curl School of Surf.

Went surfing as a beginner with one of RIP CURL's coaches at the beginning of March, ended up going to the Flag beach, which, as I understand now, is notorious for bad conditions for beginners.

The instructor showed the technique for around 5 minutes and sent us off to the crowded waters with very big waves that are definitely not of the beginner level. I didn't see anyone from the class stand up more than once.

Next day went with a different school, they brought us to a different, more beginner friendly beach and had the best time. Also, the coaches there said that they don't even consider flag beach as a destination for beginners anymore, due to powerful waves.

Also, was promised a 2 hour lesson, spend maybe 1 hour and a bit in the water. Which wasn't such a big issue at the time, as the waves were so big and difficult, it was demoralizing

Highlight of the Bali trip for our crew. We were able to surf on the consistent nearby reef break, wing foil off the beach and we topped it off with a foiling session behind the boat followed by fresh watermelon served to us by the staff.

It was my first time on a surf board and thanks to Buti, I was riding after a couple of hours. Super friendly, supportive. A great experience! They take care of safety, good equipment and competent trainers. The owner is also very nice! I can only recommend.

Surfing in Bali depends on nature. Tide is unpredictable. You need to be accommodating with regards to location and time of lesson.

My friend and I took the 2hr beginner lesson. It was good fun. Our teachet Lolo was very good and encoueaging. The school is organised and ptofessional run. There are lockers to store away your stuff. They provide rash guards and booties as well.

Great profesional approach and easy comunication with all staff. Very dedicated teachers. I recomend it to all. I will come back for sure

Definitely the best Operator for all kind of Watersports activities in the Sanur area! Super friendly staff, skilled Surf Instructors and the getaway point for the short boat ride to the Serangan Surfspots.
Excellent facilities with showers and lockers to secure your stuff when surfing!
Next to Surfing you can do also try Wing Surfing / Stand up Paddle / Kite Surfing / Foiling, rent all this gear and take lessons if needed. ️

Only rented from these guys but stuff were all very professional and helpful. Jonny and Michael, thank you for your support and good nature today.

I had my first surfing session with Ray. He is brilliant at teaching. I was able to stand up 3 times during the 1st session. Really enjoyed it. Thank you.

Very disappointing. Rip Curl School of Surf (Sanur) actively promotes WINDSURFING on their website (as @ 27th Sept, 2022)
I travelled from Legian (Approx. 12km away) specifically to windsurf, only to be told they don't do windsurfing (either lessons or hire of equipment), & have not done since the beginning of covid.
This gives them at least a couple of years to have updated their website. Unprofessional.

Overprice for the non-client oriented service.

Bought 10 lessons, after the 9th lesson felt bad, looks like intercostal neuralgia. Described the situation via WhatsApp and asked if it possible for my wife to attend last lesson instead. They confirmed it’s ok, but on the day of the lesson it turned out that it was bad English of staff on the messenger who did not understand me and it’s not possible, and I was advised to buy additional lesson for her with 10% discount, which is funny. No any other option was given instead.

Be careful when purchasing package lessons.
There are cheaper schools around in Bali with better service.

The lessons itself were good.
