Had a golden wedding today and booked a table with Seaview a week ago and got it promised! When we went to an appointment with guests today, they wanted to put us in a dark corner, our place was occupied by VIPs! We have never experienced such cheekiness and it is no coincidence that the shop was empty and poorly frequented! We wish you that the karma reaches you! This shop comes highly recommended in Leinster fashion and ruined an important enjoyable evening for us!

After staying 2 nights and have eaten at the place I can say the staff is super friendly and the food is good. The place itself needs a good renovation, the place breaths a 70’s style and thus feels a bit old fashioned. Huge cracks in the pavement around the swimming pool, ants on the seats, pool bar not operational anymore, many lights and sockets not functioning anymore. Since the beach is freely accessible in front of the hotel, guests are harassed for dolphin tours, snorkeling and other tours (which could be expected where tourism is the holy grail). More efficient staffing could improve the holiday feeling guests look for. 4 staff at the bar that only move when you order a drink, can or should see other work. With some investments I am sure they can restore this resort in its original beauty.

I stayed at Puri Bagus for 10 days in Dec/22. I purchased the 10 Day Nurturing Yoga and Massage Holiday in Mystical Bali Program.
Here are my thoughts/experiences:

Things to improve:

1. I booked a tour to go to a coffee plantation, but somehow instead, I was driven to a small clove tree farm that had a few coffee bushes. They also had a shop where I bought coffee at 90,000 IDR/piece and a few small packs of incense (5 pieces each) at 30,000IDR. That was my first time buying anything in Bali, so I didn't know how much these things cost. Apparently, you can get decent coffee at 30,000~70,000IDR. And good quality incense at 45,000IDR for a 100 pieces not 5. I haven't tried the 90,000IDR coffee, I hope it's worth the money!
So.when you are booking something with them, make sure - repeat 3 times? - where you want to go and make sure they understand you. Also, when you want to buy something and you don't know the price range for yet, just go to a market place where you have more choices.
2. Eco-friendly is also not something I could see was practiced at this hotel. I asked three times to please NOT change my bedding and towels.and I think it was only after 5 days my bedding was left as it was, but no success with towels. I gave up. I hope they can build more awareness around this and better communication with the client and cleaning crew in the near future.

Things I liked:

1. The hotel has an amazing beach front location and all the bungalows are stretched along the 100 meter beach line. In the afternoon, I really enjoyed looking at the calm sea waves while resting on my bed - a rare experience to be had! Of course, I swam in the Bali Sea every day. The resort is big and spacious, I liked going for walks on their garden path after meals.
2. The pool is GREAT! Long, big, infinity shaped, not just to dip to cool off, but to actually exercise as well.
3. The program was generous, there was something to do every day. I also appreciated that the manager was flexible with changing the program and I could pick massages or other tours instead of the ones I wasn't really interested in;
4. My favorite place was the Spa though.the girls were very professional; the spa itself is a piece of art, just being there brings you tranquility; loved the menu - from simple foot massages to a sophisticated scalp and hair treatments - anything you want and very well done;
5. Restaurant: I liked that they were very generous with their breakfast - I could choose more than 2 items like at other places. I don't eat eggs, so they accommodated my request for oatmeal and cooked it every day to my liking. For which I am beyond grateful! It is true that the menu on the web site doesn't match their real menu like some reviews mention here - they are still recovering from Covid. If food is important to you, ask them to send you a copy of the most recent menu before you book. But. I always found something to eat and portions are very generous + the prices are lower than at other hotels in Lovina. When I got tonsillitis, they made ginger-lime-honey tea for me free of charge, all day long. Thank you guys for taking care of me!
My favorite dish was the vegetarian cutlet - please, try it out! Very tasty and takes a lot of effort to cook.
6. Yoga classes were held at the stunning Yoga Shala overlooking the sea. The teacher Kadek is an Ashtanga trained yogini and just a very kind human being. I am an experienced practitioner, so we did a blend of "her and my yoga" and that was precious. She offers private classes in Lovina, so if you don't end up staying at Puri Bagus, you can still find her through Instagram here: bianca_maya81
7. Somebody mentioned bugs - yes, I did experience the little tiny flies + mosquitoes at times. But. I also stayed in Lovina at two other places and they were everywhere! I think they are a part of nature here and like to eat the flowers - they look like fruit flies. I just used peppermint oil to keep them away.
ENJOY!

I joined a beautiful yoga retreat hosted by Alka from Nourish Move Love Bali and stayed at your resort. We were treated so beautifully by all staff, who made a point to remember our names. The food and service was wonderful. I enjoyed the daily fresh local fruit in my room and the frsh coconuts were amazing. The spa was incredible – the therapists are exceptionally talented. My time spent will be cherished forever, thank you for your warmth, generosity and kindness. A beautiful resort – restorative, healing, food for the soul in every way.

Came here for dinner as my husband dontvwant toneat at local cafe, so this place is the closest one.
Food was good, price is hotel standard. Taste and presentation are good.
Maybe the staff just need more prepare when the guest arrive and prepare the table. Our table was not covered with table cloth where the other are covered. Kind like they didnt bothered, maybe because they saw me as local people.
Stay at this hotel couple time too.
The seimming pool were perfect facing the beach. Room style is Balinese.
They just need to clean the bathroom more as the glass look dirty.
