Pura Kehen

We liked it, it is small to see but large in size. The price however is a bit excessive, 50,000 IDR. If you have time and don't mind, you can go at the same time as stopping in the traditional town.

We had the opportunity of watching a ceremony live, it was a very cool and interesting experience. Loved the place and the openness from them.

Nice little temple. You don't need to have much time to visit it. As with every temple, a sarong is provided.

A temple in the center of Bali that preserves its essence and almost original state. The best thing, there is no tourism. We were alone. Entrance fee 50,000 Rp per person. It is mandatory to enter with a sarong and belt.

Keberadaan pura kehen dapat diketahui berdasarkan temuan tiga buah prasasti tembaga. Dalam salah satu prasasti yang berangka tahun 1126 Çaka (1204 M) dituliskan tentang petunjuk-petunjuk kepada penduduk sekitarnya untuk melaksanakan upacara-upacara besar di Pura Kehen pada waktu tertentu. Prasasti ini menurut nama Raja Sri Dhanadhiraja (putra raja Bhatara Parameswara, dan Ibu Raja Bhatara Sri Dhanadewi adalah Bhatara Guru Sri Adhikunti) beserta permaisurinya Bhatara Sri Dhanadewi. Goris (1948), menduga bahwa Bhatara Guru Sri Adhikunti adalah istri dari raja bernama Bhatara Guru yang telah mangkat. Sumber prasasti tersebut juga menyebutkan sejumlah pura yang mempunyai hubungan erat sebagai satu kesatuan dengan Pura Kehen yakni Hyang Matu, Hyang Kedaton, Hyang Paha Bangli, Hyang Pande, Hyang Wukir, Hyang Tegal, Hyang Waringin, Hyang Pahumbukan, Hyang Buhitan, Hyang Peken Lor, Hyang Peken Kidul, dan Hyang Kehen. Pura-pura tersebut letaknya tidak terlalu jauh dari Pura Kehen.

Compared to Pura Tirta Empul, Pura Kehen was deserted. That was great! It’s a 13th century Balinese Hindu temple with a gorgeous ancient banyan tree. 50k to enter like most other temples.

Our driver took us this place. We went here and there were barely any visitors. And once you got off, there were people trying to get you to buy a sarong and charge us 300k idr for each person which is a total rip off. We didn’t go to another store or try and find a place that offer renting one as they were rushing you to buy one. Even we bargained our way through to paying 150k per person. Still feel like being ripped off. The place itself is nothing that special or worth visiting

Pada saat-saat tertentu bisa melihat penjor dan hiasan pura. Pada hari biasa tidak ada. Bagi pengunjung bisa sewa pakaian (Kamen dan Anteng) untuk masuk ke pura ini.

2. Banyak hiasan piring atau pernak-pernik tua
3. Bale Kul-kul berada diatas pohon beringin.

I loved that this temple is kinda off the beaten track and there aren't as many visitors as other temples in Bali! Definetky worth a visit! The entrance is 30K Rupiah, which is very reasonable! Dress appropriately as it is a spiritual place!

Very beautiful. Many statues and a beautiful tree in the middle. There were only 2 other people there.

Pura Kehen -.

Pura Kehen is a Balinese Hindu temple located in Champag, Bali, on a high mountain. Pura Kehen is very ancient and is mentioned since the 9th century. Incredibly huge banyan tree grows in the courtyard of the temple at least for 400 years. The place is not very popular among tourists. There are few people only. Entrance fee is 30 thousand (2 dollars) including the rent of a sarong. The sellers in the parking lot are too sticky, they smeared the pleasant impressions of visiting the temple

Beautiful place for take photo or selfie. This temple full of Balinese ornament and look amazing. Im recommend it for you directions in Bali.

I have been many time visit kehen temple, this temple is so quiet and standing by majestic gate. As tour driver in bali i would really like my clients enjoyable the time in the places with less tourists
