The staff who sits at the check desk does not return the change for the ticket. They say that they don't have the change for ticket. So give them the exact ammount of money for ticket. The price are shown in attached picture. Translation: Dewasa - Adult = 28,000 IDR, Anak - child = 20,000 IDR and Kendaraan golongan II - the vehicle type II (motor cycle, motor bike) = 55,000 IDR. So if you have bike you should pay 28,000+55,000= 83,000 IDR. The price is actual for 15.10.2019.

Boat terminal employees try to earn easy money on tourists!

Long story short

The woman at the cashier at the boat terminal probably in coordination with a man calling himself “intelligence” that seem to be working for the boat company charged us 450 kRp instead of 165 kRp for a trip for two people with a slow public car ferry from Lintays Nusa Penida to Lombok. The total trip took around 9 hours.

Watch out! Do not trust them! Check before going to the port the price of the ticket with your home stay or one of the many kind locals on the island. Middle aged woman (around 50) with ponytail and thick lips that opened the cashier at the terminal at 8 am on the 21/07/2019 charged us 650 kRp for a trip for two that she made us understand in poor English that goes all the way to Lombok. Our tickets wrote though Lintays Nusa Penida- Pandangbai. We asked why this was but she would continue saying that it goes all the way to Lombok, poor English again but we really tried to make the communication as clear as possible. To be sure we tried to check with a person that seem to be some kind of boat crew (1,60m male wearing green polo with some kind of “team republic“ logo on him). He insisted that he is “intelligence”. No idea what he was trying to say but he seemed to be able to communicated better in English than the lady and he seemed to know some more information about the boats than the lady at the cashier. We tried to explain the situation and he became very angry to the cashier, he took our tickets and went to talk to her. He came back with 200 kRp that gave back to us and with a promise that he is gonna take us to Lombok. He said that she has done this before and he apologized. We were totally lost. Had no idea what is happening there was no information in English anywhere about timetables or prices and the guy wouldn’t understand when we were trying to talk prices. We tried to talk with the rest of the tourists that spoke English but we couldn’t really understand what has happened to us before the time we were already on the boat. Then some of the other tourists told us that they had paid only 65 kRp for two people for the trip we were about to make (Lintays Nusa Penida- Pandangbai). We were trying to understand what happened and we still not know if she asked us for more money by mistake (one more zero on the calculator) and then when we gave them to her she was, ok fine since they are so stupid I keep the money. Or if she understood that we want to go all the way to Lombok and even though she couldn’t sell us the whole ticket she pretended that she did and tried to take as much money as possible. However it seems like also the “intelligence” guy that most likely after talking to her shared the profit was also involved at the tourist scam trick. Since the ticket to the slow boat to Lombok that we took later from Pandangbai with his assistance only cost 100 kRp for two people, as we got to know when it was already too late from the boat crew. Meaning the two of them sharing in some way a profit of 285 kRp from us.

We blame our naiveness to the fact that we spent some lovely time on the island and had the luck to have met some great local people and really felt welcomed and like we can trust them.

Shame that some easy money makers port employees would destroy our departure day and make me write a bad review for the place.

No one knows anything about the time. I came at 08: 00 in the morning, cause some locals told me to. I finally waited until 14: 00 when the ferry came. 1 more hour to load, two more for the way. Save your time and take a speedboat I also paid 50k which i guess is too much. But I didnt really had choice to bargain after 6hours of waiting.

Ferry is unreliable and not for those who planed everything in advance. There is no such thing as a timetable and no one really knows when the ferry arrives and departs. But it's very cheap!

Ini seperti pelabuhan pada umum nya khusus antar daerah. Facilities tidak terlalu banyak disini

They don't have exact time for the schedule. And the price on the list that made by goverment slightly different than what passenger pay in total.
