Tips for Pedang Bai:
Do your research before arrival.
Stand your ground, or avoid eye contact with the 100 people trying to fool you.
Go straight to the office/stand you have booked your transport trough.

We had the ticket, already paid, with the boat from Gili Trawangan to Padagan Bai and from there to Sanur with the shuttle.
As soon as we get off the boat we are surrounded by a crowd of people who want to offer us taxi trips. Finally I find the agent of the company I had booked with who tells me that everything is ready for the shuttle to depart, but that instead of going directly to Sanur (an hour and a half) we would have to go through Gianyar and Ubud for a total of three and a half hours of travel.
After a while he tells me that for just 400,000 rupees, he can get me a taxi to go directly to Sanur. He proposed it to me three times until I sent him to hell and so did two others like him.
Obviously the shuttle made the direct route Padagan Bai - Sanur in the scheduled time.
Very bad.
However, nothing to say about the driver who behaved impeccably.

We had read online that there is a slow ferry that travels between the Gili Islands, Lombok and Padang Bai. Since these are significantly cheaper than the speedboats, we wanted to book them. However, it wasn't possible online, so we wanted to try it at a counter at the harbor.
As soon as our taxi driver dropped us off, two men came up to us and asked where we wanted to go and whether we had tickets and we stupidly said no. From this point on we were only harassed, followed with scooters and we were constantly sold tickets by around 5 men. We said several times that we wanted peace and quiet and needed to talk and were repeatedly interrupted. We kept being told it was too late to book it online. At some point one of us started negotiating and the other started booking it through 12goasia and it worked without any problems. We ended up paying IDR 215,000 per person, 2 hours before departure. Be sure to book online and stick with the people here! If you continue past the temple towards the terminal you will find a counter that says “free advice we can help”. There were two really lovely women sitting there with us who helped us check in. Highly recommended.

Did not like the area. Very aggressive people trying to scan for taxi and rolling your luggage. Be aware

Don’t use the speed boats, the local public ferry to Nusa Penida is only 32k and they want 350k, the ferry only takes 30 minutes longer. The ferry leaves twice a day normally at 10am and 2pm.

The local people trying to sell you fast boat tickets are really aggressive, follow you, make strange noises at you after you say you don’t want a ticket and they even tried to fight me because I asked them to stop following me. The police really need to tackle this sort of abuse it’s not nice for travelers or a way to treat people.

I read a few other reviews and they mentioned the mafia, and it does feel like that, all I can say is bad karma for them.

I wish that all the cab drivers will soon work for grab or gojek. I hope that eventually you will stop ripping people off and start working honestly with these companies.

Sebelum kesini saya cek harga tiket fast boat sekitar 350k/orang one way, saya datang kesini diinfokan fast boat terakhir akan berangkat segera, sedangkan saya masih butuh beberapa menit lg utk sampai.lalu saya tetap nekat untuk sampai port, dan diinfokan saya beruntung fast boat belum berangkat dan saya diberi tiket dengan harga 600k/orang untuk one way, saya bayar untuk 2 orang. Padahal saya orang indo loh, walaupun saya kejar waktu, tp ga digetok harga 2x lipat juga. Akhirnya dengan nada lesu dia jawab, mau one way atau return, return untuk 2 orang cukup tambah 100k lagi saja. Hhmmmmmm

Boats are pretty good with comfortable seating.they move at a fair speed as well.

We went with semaya boat which was painfully late both, going to Gili and on the way back.atleast the harbour on Padang Bai has better waiting area.can't say the same on gili Islands.

I was told that ekajaya is more punctual

Looks nice. We went here to have some ice cream because we wanted to see how people travel around with the ferry and boat. We anchored close to the blue lagoon, so we took the dingy to come here. Pretty clean harbor and nice view and the left side of the harbor with local small boats along the beach.

*WARNING: If you already booked a shuttle/taxi back to other parts of bali, ignore unknown saying that they are going to bring you back! These guys claim thay they are my shuttle back from the company I booked but they are not.

The toilet here costs 5k to enter which is perfectly fine with me although the standard of this paid toilet is really poor. What irks me the most is that the attendant tried to short-change me in a very obvious manner and then when caught, she feigned ignorance and return me the sum (encountered this a few times in Bali).

Took the Semenyan one to Gili T because it is a big boat, the rocking and swaying is reduce I think. As a chronic seasick person, this is great. The boat could do more with better design as the seats are design to seat 4 but comfortably seat 3 at most. I am an Asian guy with a rather small built (1.8m and 65 kg) and I am struggling to cramp into one seat.

Fast boats -slow service.
Upon arrival you have to line up for more than 30 minutes even in the low seasonto get your ticket. After you receive the ticket you have to wait for another 40mins to get on the boat.
If you are taking the boat from here just prepare to wait around a lot.

Local merchants selling product from the jetty to patrons onboard the ferry. Be nice to them, show some ️.

Good place to travel to other islands from. Beware of the sales hawks for vans and boats, they look at every opportunity to rip you off.

Out of all the other boats this one’s a bit new and clean. The driver knows what he is doing so, he avoided the thrashing waves and helped us avoid the sea sickness. The prices weren’t cheap either but definitely not expensive than the others. There are others who try to just rip the tourists off. Be careful if them. These guys though, the ya re quite mature and can speak good English, so we can negotiate a good price.

Pelabuhan traditional yang dipakai khusus penyeberangan fast boat dari Bali ke lombok, Nusa penida, Gili, penataan masih kurang, baik tempat sandar boat maupun kantor trevel yang melayani penyeberangan, parkir juga perlu ditata lebih baik, tidak ada toilet, jadi harus sewa 5.000 kalau mau kencing, perlu penataan lebih karena lebih banyak di pakai tamu international

This is the place when you want to HAVE a good time as you travel. All the long queue line, delayed time and commotion would stay in your memory.

If you want to MAKE a good time you could always try the plane.

For gilli islands: Check the sea condition out. If waves are big the fast boat doesn't run and you will be putted in a big slowly ferry that take 4/5 hours to lombok. Very long line to catch the boat be there 2 hrs before departure
