Definitely the BEST surf school in Bali! Every surfing session felt like pure bliss - sunshine, the sea and great people. Odyssey Surf School has deepened my enthusiasm for surfing. They have everything you need for an unforgettable surfing experience: awesome coaches, life guard, surfboards, shower, towels, lockers, rash guards, water in the office and photographer. One very important point to highlight is how amazing the coaches are - very supportive, caring, passionate and responsible.

I’ve surfed 26 times with them and cheers to many more sessions with Odyssey.

Great surf school on Kuta Beach. Took a beginners group lesson for 2.5 hrs a little over IDR 400k with two other people. If you walk along the beachwalk you'll find many stalls offering a 2 hr lesson for 200k.
I chose to go with Odysseys despite the price difference for the private locker to store my belongings, towel service, cold water station in their office, and showers (albeit the water pressure was on the low side) with a changing room. If you don't have a rash guard or wetsuit, they provide you with a rash guard.
Safety for me was a top priority, so I really appreciated that on top of your instructor, there was another lifeguard watching out for their students and the soft top boards have soft rubber fins to minimize getting cut from the board (which I didn't see at the other schools along the beach).
The beach was also great because the sand is soft and there's no coral to get cut on either!
For those of you wanting pics, they have a photographer who takes several pictures during your session which you can purchase for idr 100k.
One more thing for you to know, they offer a free 1 hour surf board rental if you leave them a review on Google, tripadvisor, etc.

Right in front of Kuta Beach, so access is good. There is a shower facility and the instructors are really good at it. I came two days in a row, but my physical strength was lacking. I think it would be better to start early in the morning and the price is reasonable. Koreans are the best here. While surfing, watching planes take off while having a glass of Bintang Radler on the beach is paradise.

Had a blast at Odyssey! The private class was perfect as I'd never surfed before and my teacher Dawide gave me great tips not only before getting into the water but after each ride.
I had to cut the lesson short due to my own issue, but even then the guys were great in helping and having their facilities so close to the beach was ideal.

Excellent experience for myself and my 7 yo girl. I was a bit nervous to have her surfing because of the current and strong waves but the team planned for an instructor to be with her at all times while another instructor assisted my friend and myself. It felt safe, it was very fun and we had a blast. Great shower facilities back at the shop and great lunch place recommendation to top it up. This was the highlight of my Bali trip ️

Odysseys has helped my son improve his surfing skills alot. During quieter sessions each students are guides by one teacher which made the session more effective.
The staffs are very fun and helpful.
I would recommend Odyssey to anyone who wants to learn surfing!

Great instructors, good price, nice convenient place. I really enjoy my surfing time here. Whenever I want to practise, I always back to Odyssey. It's my 5th times and you can bet I will come back again soon! Price is included towel, shower, locker, instructor & board. The office is inside the Kuta Mercure Hotel, you can park your motorcycle in their parking area located UG.

I'm glad I had my first surfing lesson with Odysseys!

We booked a group session with one trainer, but we managed to get an extra trainer due to the pandemic situation. The trainers are super experienced, super clear in explaining the basics of surfing and training beginners. Oh, and the class has also included photos for extra cost!

I'm told that during the normal season it gets very busy here so we might not get the same great service as what we had. But definitely will take another class with Odysseys!

It was great fun to surf and spend so much time in the water. The beach was great, and the instructors were very helpful and friendly.

Perfect experience. The school conveniently picked us up at our hotel, instructors were nice and courteous, and their professional photographer helped take good pictures. Showers also provided at the end of the sessions. 10/10 would recommend to any friend or family looking for a good surf lesson in Kuta.

I took a private intermediate lesson with Su at Odyssey Surf School in Kuta on 8/31/19 and had a great experience. Su asked about my surf abilities and my goal for the lesson, and selected a board that would be suitable for my needs. I received corrections on my existing technique, and tips on paddling, positioning on board, pop up, balance, and turning for catching & riding unbroken green wave. He also offered training tips for me for after I go home. By end of the lesson, I was able to ride unbroken green wave, something I couldn’t do before.

The school is located just across the road from the surf spot on Kuta beach. The check-in process is streamlined and very efficient. They provide lockers, change rooms, shower, towels, etc.that’s all included in the price. They have a few umbrellas on the beach with reclining pillows and chilled water for the school. A photographer takes shots of each student and the photos are available for purchase via airdrop (cheaper) or on USB drive.

Overall I had a great experience and will come here again next time I’m in south Bali!
