Monsieur Spoon Umalas ulasan
34Just visited here for the trending Cromboloni. Taste really good. Superb dough & filling. This one is pistachio
I always enjoy all my breakfast time here.
Fast and friendly service.
No different from other Monsieur Spoons, my favorite hot latte and cappuccino are also delicious, so is the food.
It's a small place but quiet and cozy.
Definitely recommended and will stop by often ;)
I hate giving such a terrible review, but it seems necessary to warn others.
This location is smaller so maybe the other monsieur spoons locations are better.
The main issue was that the food wasn’t fresh and tasted off.
The first sign was the drinks, we got “fresh juices” and it tasted very sour and unlike other juices I’ve had in Bali.
Then, my friend got the avocado toast and you could tell by the color is wasn’t fresh. She took one bite and had to immediately spit it out.
My other friend got the club sandwich and the lettuce was brown and wilted and the chicken was gritty and tasted off as well. She also only had one bite.
At this point I didn’t even want to wait for my dish to arrive. We told the worker that the food wasn’t fresh and that we wanted to leave. She said it was too late to cancel our order, so we paid for our uneaten food and walked down the street to Mr.egg (which was delicious!)
With the amount of cute cafes in Bali, I wouldn’t risk coming here.
Best Coffee in town. I live to take my pre-surf coffee there. And try the Almond Croissants - delicious!
Day 1, absolute gold star.great breakfast
fast forward to 2 days later, we came back to have second breakfast. What a let down, bread wasn't fresh, no jam, butter felt like it was from the freezer. 0 presentation on food.
Did chef take a day off?
photos from day1 only.
Quiet bakery that opens as early as 7am for those who are early worms. It is very difficult to find a cafe that opens this early (or quiet)! A perfect corner to enjoy a quiet Black Croissant and an oatmilk Cappuccino before starting the day:)
Ordered go jek (I live 7 min away).
Bread is wet, poached eggs are not right, cream cheese is way too small, no cherry tomato. Had that dish 100 times and I know how it suppose to be.
‘Mini’ and compact Monsieur Spoon tenant on Umalas street. Suitable for quick grab and go for pastries or even quick dine in. The place was clean and not too crowded on the mornings. No parking space but you can park your motorcycle on the front of the store. Quick service and friendly staff.
Food is great, place is small but okay. Food price is a little bit expensive but the price of bread and other pastries are average. Can't be seen easily from the road. Waiters are friendly.
Very attentive staff and pastries where great with an awesome view of the rice patty fields. The view in the back area is what makes it on top of the food.
I ordered 3 baguette through gojek and they gave me the baguette that they made the day before. They were hard and not nice as usual.
Disappointed!
Classy and fun place to have a cute breakfast. Lots of breads and cakes are available to choose. Along with coffees and juices.
Quick service from the staff.
Cozy place especially the indoor area.
Used to be my goto place for Croissant in the morning. Usually fresh and warm.
Went to buy some this morning, and was given yesterdays stock it seems like.cold and stale.
Probably wont be back for a long while.
Need to up their game in light of recent competition.
Ordered ice latte, they brought me coffee with couple cubes of ice which melted in 2 minutes. I asked for more ice, and they charged me 5.000 idr. Charging for ice? ! Seriously. Even if you charge for ice, maybe make a proper ICE coffee.
Gila ya, gak nyangka perlakuan kalian sama driver ojol kayak gitu ya.
Tolong management/owner didik staffnya.
PARAH nih kasir pagi (29 mei 2021). Kalo gak suka ojol masuk cafe mu, matikan ajah apk nya. Selesai
Gak usah sewot dan ngancam cancel orderan segala, gak sopan banget. Kamu pikir mereka NGEMIS, mereka kerja. Gak perlu diperlakukan gimana2 sikap biasa ajah, mereka datang dan pergi.
Nama islami banget, kelakuan kaya gak sekolah aja. Bikin bad mood seharian
Tutup sampai jam 7 malam.
The place is small but still comfort. The staff was coughing but didn't use mask and didn't say thank you when I left (I said first and was thinking 'because I am local? '). I sat inside because of raining. I ordered chamomile tea. I felt so bad because 2 flies flew to my cup and I asked for replace my cup. But the rum raisin cruel is delicious!
ABOUT EXPERIENCE
•
We all know that restaurants and cafes are not just food spots anymore. We all know customers are getting more and more demanding. And educated too. Nowadays, we have all kind of food that you can imagine. You don’t need to go to France, Italy, China etc to try authentic cuisine, big cities have EVERYTHING. We can even order delivery service to get either a dish or ingredients for making a dish.
We are moving towards experience. We don’t go only for crepes, sushi, pizza you name it. We crave EXPERIENCE: concepts, homey places, friendly smiley faces asking “How are you today? ”.
I believe restaurants have to create great experience to survive. A lot of that is about training your staff.
As a guest, you don’t want to be surrounded by arrogant waiters who don’t pay attention to you when you come, give a smile and say “good morning”. You don’t want to be surrounded by people who look like they hate their job (well, I don’t care about that part, just quit if you really hate your job or pretend like you love it) and who smile only to those guests they know. You don’t want to but you have to experience that negative part at Monsieur Spoon Umalas. Don’t get me wrong: the place is lovely, breakfast, coffee, pastry - everything is great, chefs know what they’re doing. The part that Monsieur Spoon Umalas fails at is about staff who behave exactly the way I describe a few sentences before. It makes me want to go back to Monsieur Spoon Ubud because of nice guys creating great customers experience there
