La Joya Resort

We had our dream intimate wedding at La Joya and never regretted this choice! Big thanks to Yuni who helped us from start to finish in organising everything. Yuni and the team delivered above expectations and we had the best time of our lives. The food, view, atmosphere and service is excellent.

Nice and relaxing place. The rooms are nice and they have small private backyards. However Balangan beach might be disappointing, it's a bit dirty and full of seaweed. It looks like a nice surfing spot, but not a good option for swimming and relaxing.

Beautiful hotel area with a nice view over the sea, the hut was really nice and spacious.the stuff was nice, especially at the reception! Food was good but i recommend to go to some warungs if you’re up for authentic Bali food, because the asian food in the hotel was not.western food was pretty good.the beach was accessible with a 5 mins walk down the cliff.the location was so so, since there was no shops or warungs/restaurants/bars accessible on foot around there. We had some construction site next which was starting to work in the morning and barking dogs just outside the hotel area but yah, it didn’t bother us too much.price rather high.

Beautiful resort with very traditional style individual bungalows. Very friendly service, good food, and breakfast was excellent. Pools were fabulous, the beach is quite rundown with a lot of rubbish around, so I was quite surprised, but it felt very authentic and stepped back in time. There were cows on the beach. If you’re expecting a lush, glitzy beach, this is not the right place. The mazu beach club down there was good. My husband loved the surfing here. He said it was much safer and consistent than Uluwatu surfing. The massage was fabulous. It’s very remote, you can’t really go anywhere else, and there are no shops nearby. If you’re looking for nightlife, shopping etc, you won’t be happy here. It’s a relaxation zone. The only issue I have, is that there was a small 750ml bottle of water supplied, just enough for teeth brushing, and each bottle after that was $5 each, which is more expensive than even San Pellegrino in Australia. That is not ok! I don’t mind paying really, so put the price of the room up to cover the water, since you can’t take it from the tap. It felt a bit like we were stranded without water supplied, and wasn’t a good feeling. However there were so many other fabulous things about this place. Would definitely come back, but would stop at the mart on the way to stock up on water! It’s not a walkable distance. There is a very tiny shop out the front with water that is very reasonably priced, but there’s hardly anything in there, except a fridge with a few drinks, water and Bintang. Sunset was fabulous and gardens were beautiful. Loly on reception was very kind and caring

Remote location but beautiful view over the Indian Ocean. If you want to go to the beach, you will have to go down a staircase. That also means quite a climb to the top.
Large beach ideal for surfers.
The room is not too spacious and has a panoramic sliding window. This can only be closed with a cable lock.
Service is what you expect from a 3 star hotel.

Nice hotel in Balangan area. The location is perfect as they have a direct view to the ocean from the top of a hill. Beautiful hotel with nice rooms. Each room is separated from others so it feels like a private one. Each room has its own garden, very comfortable. They have big pool and comfortable restaurant where clients can spend their leisure time. To reach the beach, we need to walk down the stairs. I would recommend the hotel.

Very very helpful staff.whatever we asked, they really tried to make it up becoz we bring 6month old kids.very friendly and helpful.food in the restaurant was good.the only things need to be fix is the road on the way to the resort.but it has other way which is easier, go through Nirmala regency.beach are easy to reach and beautiful, quiet.the sand are so fine and clean.recommend for family or if you want peace.this place away from the crowd, mostly tourist with family staying here.only few i saw couple staying here

Very bad service in the restaurant and some staffs not really friendly.the room was so different what i got from traveloka.

Great place for relaxing time! Really friendly team it’s quiet and calm atmosphere. Yoga on the sunset is great! As well as to have a cocktail during sunset. The area and the bungalow was really clean. Balinese massage was magic! Thank you a lot

We initially booked 4 nights, but we had to run after 2 nights. (first night we arrived around 10pm, so didn’t see much)
1. The bed was super super dirty, 3 of us, including my 2 years old son, have gotten 50 bug bites in total. (Baby boy got 4 bug bites on the face alone.)
2. We realised that the roof was leaking in the afternoon, we informed the reception before dinner, not fixed, water was leaking from the roof to the bed during the night.
3. We booked 4 nights, stayed 2 nights, informed the reception that we had to go, they still charged us 3 nights, because of its refund policy.
4. It’s just super dirty, the place is NOT maintained properly, don’t get fooled by the pictures.just DON’T GO THERE!

Wonderful rooms, great size bedroom, such a great environment and atmosphere.

The idea of going on holidays is with relaxation Unfortunately I felt as many others said that the only interested on money and how to optimize spending.and feeling this way is the opposite of relaxing.

Let's start:
1. Minibar in the room.they charge the water on top of the rest as usual.
2. You want to have breakfast. Set menu of 4 choices, max 1 per person. We asked for an extra croissant, here is the extra charge. 1 euro. Nothing big. But you start to get the pattern.
3. Dinner/lunch.great options. All prices +21% from what you see. Main dish costs roughly 10euro
Desserts: 4-5 euro
Juices: 3.5euro
Roughly 1 salad- 2 mains -2 drinks: 35-40euro.
5. Spa/massage. Same as above +21% in small letters.

All other services offered (e.g taxi service) is also overpriced.
The room was great, spacious, it would be nice to have a chair and a table to put your drink, only option to sit was the bed where you sleep.

The last nail on the coffin: . We did early check out so we had to pay everything the night before (makes perfect sense). They went in the room and emptied the minibar.

I understand they have their reasons but i left the room afraid I will be charged for something I had no idea they charge for.

I wouldn't visit but I would suggest to be prepared when booking a room.

Beautiful resort.we loved how eco friendly the resort is. The property is so well designed and it gives out a very zen vibe!
The staffs are great. Speaks well and very friendly. We stayed in the resort the whole day.ate our dinner there too. Loved it! Loved the pool, the ambienece.and oh, did I say the beach is so easily accessible from the resort? Beautiful beach, great location to just rest and recharge!

If there's anything I didn't really fancy was their breakfast. Could have been alil better. But that's alright.

We had such a beautiful stay at La Joya. The rooms were beautifully designed and super clean. It is connected to Balangan Beach which was wonderful, only a 2 minute walk away from the restaurant/pool area. The atmosphere is very relaxed, warm and comfortable. Thank you for a great stay:)

Great little place to stay. Generous sized room, good food. Easy access to beach and surf. Service was excellent 2 pools to choose from. Great view of sunset. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

We went there for a massage.it was very calming.good ambience and good service.the massage place was located in small cottage.you can hear wind, wave, and chicken sound.

The place is a good 3 star hotel which offers spacious huts with own garden and simple, basic amenities. Some renovations will soon be needed as the property is beginning to look a little dated. Bed at queen seize is too short for tall people. Access to the beach is via a field with cow dung, staircase down to beach needs repair. Food is ok even thiugh the menue is more European and international then traditionally balinese. Staff were not as friendly as is other hotels we stayed at and did not seem to deliver the same work basic service even if without much passion for the job. Reception closed at night and scooters parked just in front of entrance kind of spoils first impression. Pools are ok, also a little sated but fine. Yoga session was fantastic and massage is free for 15 min which is great. Thst was very good and relaxing. Overall fine but please do not stay in an eco luxury resort before. Instead do it the other way around.
