Jati Home Stay

Unfortunately a horrible stay and had to cut it short and move.i) The walls are paper thin: i could hear every single word and every single thing in the room next door.plus there is super loud music at night.bring ear plugs.ii) the wifi was extremely weak despite my room being closest to the router. I had work calls scheduled and couldn't take them as wifi was too weak, so I had to move to another place.iii) the staff unfortunately are not helpful.when I arrived I was told I could only check in around 6pm because some workers had machinery in the room. I asked to see the room, but the clerk refused, and said he didn't have they key.
If you don't mind noise and don't need wifi, stay here. Otherwise, run.

A very pleasant room in a calm and green environment, in the heart of central Ubud.
The bedding is excellent.

Rooms need an update, specially the bathroom that is very poor maintained. The views from the room are amazing to the jungle and even you can see monkeys jumping from tree to tree. The staff really friendly and profesional. Location good: close to the main street and restaurant areas but still feels quiet and poor choices for breakfast.

I had a decent stay at Jati. However, I have some suggestions that I'd like the owner to consider:

1. I stayed in Room 4. My neighbors in the rooms right next to me could clearly be heard conversing. Since it has a high ceiling, I believe the noise traveled from the roof. It was extremely bothersome.
2. I left for dinner at 6: 30 pm. It was already dark. I came home at 11pm, finding my bed was already being made, and the lights in my room were turned on. I appreciate the kind gesture to make up my bed, but nevertheless it was an odd timing to be making up the room. At least I wasn't expecting anyone/staff to enter my room around that time.
3. On the second floor, the partitions between the balconies were see through. Because we could see into each other's rooms whenever my neighbors or I were standing the balcony, I felt a little awkward to be on the balcony and I noticed so were my neighbors. No privacy there.

Still giving 5 stars because the family were nice and were very welcomed to the guests.

Cute little cottage.have to walk down in a lane.staff is very helpful carrying luggage and arranging taxi.will definitely recommend staying here again.

The staff of the homstay was very nice. I have been hare five years ago. The service is very good, therefore, I booked it again for this trip. But this time I booked via agoda. Unlucky that because agoda's mistake, we donot have a room. But the staff here are very kind to guide me contact with agoda to refund my money and also find another hotel nearby with good price.

This is such a wonderful place to stay, it's right in the centre of Ubud, but away from the street overlooking a lush jungle area. The staff are so friendly and the room was big with a great bed, so comfortable. The bathroom could do with an update but the bedroom makes up for that as it's clean, beautiful and extremely comfortable. The balcony faces the jungle. It was so nice, the place made us want to spend more time in the room!

I didn't like breakfast, didn't suit me.
And it's very noisy at night, loud music from 9 pm till midnight.
Some disco near by.
If you want quiet atmosphere in the evening not recommended.
But nice and quiet in the morning.

Been staying at Jati Homestay since my first visit some 10yrs ago.
Dewa makes it a point to keep the facilities current. This current version is the version 3 since my first visit. From blackout curtains to the King sized beds and plush pillows to nightly turn-downs! One would think that you're at a 5 star resort.

Attentive staff makes the stay even more enjoyable.

Smack in the middle of Ubud happenings, Jati Homestay is your home in Ubud.

Beautiful and clean place to stay at. Excellent service as well. Unfortunately, my girlfriend got bitten by a monkey and we received help to get to a proper clinic to receive treatment. The owner even made an appointment for us. Highly recommend!

We had a pleasant stay of 5 days, the best part is that it's right in the centre of Ubud and yet it's tucked away, cut off from the busy street. Quiet with only bird sounds, and so much greenery to cool the eyes. A narrow pathway leads to the homestay, with little ponds of koi fish. This one is on Hanuman street, opp. Atman cafe, be careful not to be confused with Jati cottages which is further away and bigger.

They warned us to be careful of monkeys but we were lucky to not encounter a single wild monkey, there were some sounds of jumping on the roofs at night, that would've been them.

The room was beautiful, with a great view of the greenery outside and done up well. Bathroom was good too, with a bathtub. The room was cleaned every single day, we would always come back to a spic and span room.

The manager Surya is well versed with English and was helpful in answering our queries whenever we needed something. The rest of the staff are not very conversant in English, would be even better if they were, but this did not affect our experience in any way.

Breakfast is sumptuous with pancakes (made so well and green coloured with our favourite pandan leaves), fruit salad with a yogurt and oats dressing and toast, eggs / omelette as per your preference. And coffee / tea or course.

Would rate it highly: great location, helpful staff, and cleanliness and quietude.

Great place to stay in Ubud. Close to the city center, but far away from the street to be quiet. Beatifull lookout on to some trees and a small pond. Very laid back atmosphere. Rooms are very tidy and are cleaned often. Only minor inconvenience is that the English of the staff is quiete poor, English of the manager is very good and he is around often so this was not a problem for us.

Fantastic staff, kind and attentive. The hotel is beautiful, facing the forest. The only sounds you’ll hear are nature’s sounds. Still the position is very central. Rooms are clean and have been cleaned every day. Great breakfast. And you even find a letter on your pillow with a Balinese bedtime story, different every night. What else do we need? Highly recommended!
