Gilitransfers

Bought a boat ticket from Gili Trawangan to Bali (Padangbai) on the 12th July because we knew there would be a lot of tourists. Today, 13th August, we had a problem with the ticket because this disorganised and chaotic agency didn't register our ticket, even though we had booked it a month ago.
We had to run and ask the staff for help at the harbour, while other people who didn't buy the ticket from here had no problems.

We had booked a ticket from Gili Trawangan to Padangbai for today and Gilitransfer forgot to give our reservation to the boat company so they had not reserved a seat for us and the boat was fully booked. Absolutely not recommended. Book directly with the boat comanies

This company is great if you enjoy being lied to, overcharged and frustrated. We learned the hard way about the difference between agents and operators, and this agent is a perfect example of what you want to avoid.

All the paperwork we received from them was incorrect. We booked a speedboat from Lombok to Nusa Lembongan, but the arrival time and destination port were both inaccurate. When we showed up for the boat the operators said it wouldn’t leave for over an hour after the scheduled departure time. The trip would also take an hour longer than scheduled and involved stopping by at another island that was not on the schedule, where we would take a smaller boat to the final destination: a port on the opposite side of the island from where we instructed our pick up driver to come get us. When I asked the boat operator about these discrepancies and showed him our ticket, he said “They flat out lied to you. There is no boat that goes direct to that island and no boat that can arrive within the timeframe on this ticket. ” He then asked us to send him our documentation so he could inform his boss of this agency. Beware!

Just had the worst experience today, they made me come to Padang bai at 10 o clock to depart 11: 30, when I come to Padang bai, they say the boat is leaving only at 1: 30. And tell me if I have any problem to message on WhatsApp, I message the office and they say talk to the people on the office. I get to the harbour, it’s a complete mess, no one knows where the boat is. Some say the boat will leave in 10 min others say in 3 hours. End of story I had to wait for 4 hours. Big waste of time, big mess, no one can tell you what’s really going on. I really don’t recommend. Also when I go to the office at semaya, they were all laughing and making jokes about us in local language

Service was fine and stuff were helpful. Our boat was unfortunately cancelled but team helps us to get tickets to another boat. I recommend gilitransfers.

Es werden Karten für Boote verkauft die es nicht mehr gibt. Stattdessen wird man auf ein anderes Boot umgebucht welches mehrere Stunden später ankommt und einen anderen Hafen anfährt. Die Kommunikation über WhatsApp ist unverschämt! Nicht zu empfehlen. Lieber 1€ mehr ausgeben und vor Ort am Hafen ein Ticket kaufen.

They overbooked the boat, so they changed us to another boat where we had to pay again!
Do not book with them.
After arguing with the guy, he just left his counter and let us rot.

Easy to book and they answer WhatsApp quickly (+6281353304990). Travel time on receipt differed to on the website (reality was about halfway between). I chose rupiah to book, but then still had to pay in US dollars.

Great service and they were so organised arranging the hotel transfers. Everything ran on time. The arrival into Lembongan is slightly different now, I prefer the original way coming into the beach from Sanur. That long jetty at your beach club isn’t the greatest.

Organised and on time. However, arrived at the new jetty at Rocky's Beach Club on Nusa Lembongan isn't great. We prefer to leave from Sanur and arrive on the beach.

The booking and payment process were smooth. There were two issues I faced:

1. The email confirmation gives you the location of where the harbour is but it doesn’t actually tell you where to meet the fast boat so I had to walk around a bit asking where to go.
2. On the e-ticket, it tells you to get there 45 minutes before the time the boat is meant to leave. I got to the harbour at 13: 30 (boat due to leave at 14: 30) just incase there were any issues. There was a counter bu the sea but NOBODY was there. At 14: 00 I started stressing that I was in the wrong place and asked around again - staff of another fast boat told me that there was a big check in counter behind the market. I went there and NOBODY was there. Now I realise that GiliTransfers is just a third party and is not responsible for how the fast boat themselves operate but my issue was that I tried to reach GiliTransfers by Whatsapp text and call (as they advertise on their website) and got no response from them! I was stressing big time that I was going to miss the boat (eventually after phoning the boat company, someone pitched at 14: 25 and put me on a different boat for 15: 00).

Even after the whole debacle I text them telling them I was upset and absolutely no response again! I would suggest rather paying a higher price to get a better more professional service!

The transfer should be at 13.30, we left harbour almost an hour later.

The driver I had that picked me up from my hostel was absolutely lovely and very informative providing lots of information. The boat ride was pleasant. Over all good experience

Very simple & easy to use, good value for money. Staff are incredibly helpful and quick to reply! Had to change my outgoing trip last minute and they were very kind as to rearrange at no extra cost. Definitely will use them for my next booking!

Our pick up and drop off transfer car never arrived. Poor communication. Incorrect map for the meeting point.

Everything was smooth and perfect, the boat was on time. We also had a pick up and drop off included. Would recommend to anyone going to Nusa Penida!:)

We have done this crossing many times over the years and knew the seas would be rough but we're plesently surprised how smooth the trip was been a bigger boat, transfer out to the vessel went well, all the staff were helpful. The mini bus transfer was good, the drive down uninventful and timing pretty much spot on. This company provides a good and safe trip thanks.

The boat and staff was fine, what we liked less was the fact it was sold to us as a direct trip from nusa penida to Lombok, but in reality we made a couple of other stops on the way, changing the trip that should have taken 2 hours, into a 4 hour trip. If we would have known in advance this would not have been a problem, but now it was a hassle since we already made arrangements to arrive at a certain time at the harbour. Be sure to check the actual travel time!

The website is cheaper than when you prefer booking from the counter. Hassle free and reliable and straightforward. No hidden charges, you pay what you see. Loved booking through gili transfers.
