Perfect experience! We had 3 trips with Gili Get Away and are completely satisfied. The staff was very nice and we felt safe at all times.

What was very special was the incredibly good service. They were always quickly reachable via WhatsApp and helped us with everything, even when we had to change our travel plans spontaneously. We would book with Gili Getaway again anytime and highly recommend it to anyone!

You get what you pay for.
We tried two cheaper ferries before and it was tight and crowded but an okay ride.

With Gili getaway we went from Lombok to Bali and it was such a good experience! We have been guided from beginning to end in a nice and gentle manner. Our 2 surfboards and suitcases have been taken care of nicely. The smaller boat was nice and felt more personal and the sunroof was a super enjoyable option (if you like getting a little wet) I imagine you shouldn’t go on top if the sea is rougher because it would shake a lot and you would get extremely wet. We just got a little cooling from the sea water ;) getting downstairs on the ladder can be a bit tricky while on the open water.
The Team was really nice and offered towels to lay down and at the end iced towels to wipe the skin from sweat and sea water. After they organized a nice taxi driver to Uluwatu. Would recommend if you don’t mind spending a little more

I travelled to Gili Air from Serangan and also returned with Gili Getaway. It was 760k IDR for one way ticket. Company is very reliable. Boat always arrived to destination on time and very organised. Excellent service. Quick and responsive via WhatsApp and easy to buy the ticket online via bank transfer. The transfers are included in your ticket so they pick up from your hotel or drop you off when you arrive. The staff are very professional. Boat is never overcrowded so there is always a seat. They even gave cold towels on the boat. Definitely recommend.

A round-trip trip to Gili was booked through a website, and a car was sent from the hotel to the port and back. You can order a private car for a fee, which is better, and their treatment is very wonderful. I recommend booking in advance.

Amazing service - 100% recommend! I heard some horror stories of other ferries from others and this was nothing like that, very much worth the price. They do pickup and drop off (well coordinated), handle luggage, ran perfectly on time and had plenty of room on the boat. I lost my ticket but they had everything backed up in the computer system so there were no issues. They give seasick pills if you need it, but I felt fine.

We were very happy with this fast boat company.
After bad weather that did not allow us to take the boat, the company was able to inform us very quickly of the delay of our boat via WhatsApp.

We used Gili Getaway to get from Ubud to Gili T and back. They organised for a taxi to collect us from our hotel, the port and boarding were well organised and the trip was okay. The boat was not overcrowded and it was a comfortable journey. The return was the same.

Defo recommend using them if you’re leaving gili T, the boat was so nice it even had a TV playing films! They brought round cold towels as well. Lovely staff and defo use these guys if you are looking for a boat company.

We were unlucky that because of the bad weather in Bali, the boats couldn't leave and we couldn't go back to Bali, but Gili Gateway helped us at all times and let us move the boat reservation to a few days later, when the weather was over.allowed the departure of boats from Bali.

They have very good management in general, they are concerned at all times that the passes to the ship are correct, that your luggage arrives in the best conditions and offers a free shuttle service that takes you to the port to catch the ship and to return from the ship They also bring you free of charge to your accommodation or wherever you have to go.

Gili Getaway is the best ferry company in my opinion. They provide pick ups and help you with your luggage. They also are very transparent and keep you updated on your trip while on board.

It offers exactly what is stated on the tin. Some of its services can be cancelled which can you require to travel some distance by car to a different port to take you back to Bali. This can add a further 1.5 hours extra time on your 2-hour boat journey. It somewhat made the journey back very tiresome.

Gili Getaway was really easy and definitely the comfort option to go back to
Bali.

I would suggest you get at the beginning of the queue to get on the boat as there are only a couple of seats on top. Go for the middle row seats as the front rows have two cylinders in front which aren’t the best to be looking at.

At the top you will have cushioned pads that you can lay down on your seat and towels are also provided should you wish to use them ️

The staff on board are informative, they will brief you once everyone is on board at Lombok and then when you arrive at Bali they will ask you to go to the restaurant, bags will follow.

There will be a Gili Getaway staff member at the restaurant and they will go through all passenger names and location you are going to by.

They will then point you towards a table, all tables are marked. A driver will come over to the table that you are allocated to and you and others on that table will car share to your destination

I was really impressed as to how organised it was.

The worst day of my entire life. Today I almost died. This company is not safe, staff unprepared for adverse situations. I took the boat from Gili T to Bali, and the waves were not suitable for boating. The boat rocked so much that it nearly capsized a couple of times. No one was safe in there, but they didn't bother to let us know I wish I had all the choice to get on an unsafe boat. This company nevermore

It was good and we just not lucky that our boat the engine is broken so we stuck for 5 hour from gili - lombok- after leaving lombok engine is broken so we have to find the closest harbour, waiting for the boat get fix but does’t success so they have to change to a new boat (partner with another company) and taking us from lombok- nusa penida- Sanur thats long day in a boat.but they are organized and have a good customer service. They pick up and drop off at the hotel and had good commincation about our reservation. If we go to Gili again we would probably just fly from Lombok because many people were sick on the boat from big waves and the condition is also hot with no breeze.

Boat operated on time and was well organised, with good communication beforehand via WhatsApp and email. The boat's cabin is not air-con and is hot. I found the most comfortable spot was sitting outside at the rear - great view and lots of fresh air (the motors are loud). Our journey was relatively smooth but apparently there are always a few waves in the middle of the strait where the currents meet.

Ontime, pickup & drop off to my place. Depart from Serangan harbour. The schedule is very friendly, not too early in the morning, and the first one to come back to Serangan.

Failed to tell us of a law change before we left, surprised us after we’d arrived in Gili T, however the rule was brought in prior to this. Meaning that in order to get back to Bali, we had to pay extra for a local boat to Lombok, and then go back on ourselves. Not their fault that the govt introduced a stupid money grab, but they knew and didn’t tell us until it was too late for us to change our minds. Our last holiday day today and we’ve spent 5 hours travelling on boats and in the drop off back - 5 big men in a small car, two stops on the way back. Now the day is gone

No I don't recommend it. Sure they may be fast but the boat is too small to ensure a comfortable ride in such a big open sea crossing. The captain and crew may be using "safe" measures but the lack of communication makes the ride feel unsafe. Sitting on the top deck I and seven other passengers were close to being washed overboard when a massive wave crashed down and kept on coming. Take the bigger Eka Jaya that can handle the crossing even when the waves are choppy.

Professional! I was explained at every single step what to expect and where to go. Great experience with them.
