We came here to visit based on the recommendation of someone staying at our hotel. I’m always a little sceptical of animal parks and zoo’s because of welfare etc, but based on the recommendation we thought we would go. We’re sad to say we were very disappointed. While I have no evidence based on my visit to suggest elephants aren’t well cared for, it’s seems to me that the elephants are being exploited by the park. It’s more geared up for elephant back rides and those who wish to participate - if you are one of these people - seriously reconsider. We didn’t feel comfortable with paying for the elephant ride add on ticket as we are not sure that this is in the best interest of the elephant and don’t agree with this - especially as this place advertises itself to be a sanctuary. The park tries to justify the elephant rides, and advises this has many health benefits (still very skeptical as to whether this is true, think this is here to make tourists feel better) and there are signs everywhere to state this park is approved by welfare standards - (need to research this) …… The only thing that is included in the normal entry ticket is feeding (coconut sticks only though, you have to pay extra for fruit and veg which is 50,000rph), and photographs which you can ask for the staff to take on your phone - we did tip the staff though. You have to pay extra to wash the elephants, you can’t tour the forest area unless you are on elephant back - so we were excluded from this. They have rest areas and free roam areas but there were no elephants resting when we went around (twice!) - as they were all out for tourists to ride in the water and around the park. We saw one elephant what we think was the free roam area which was on heat… the free roam area also looked very small.we hope there was more beyond the park that we couldn’t see.and no elephants were in the nursery. There was a theatre there but no educational talks taking place, a ridiculously expensive gift shop, and a restaurant that we didn’t bother to go in as no doubt it would again be a lot of money for average food, and a random museum of artwork of elephants. Not worth the extortionate money for the ticket at all in our opinion, we would have preferred to make a donation to the elephants welfare - (maybe this is an option?), rather than pay for what was essentially a very short walk around, where we saw and fed two elephants and took some photos whilst we witnessed fellow tourists frolick on the back of a couple more. We were happy to just take pictures of the elephants as they were, but were ushered to pose with them (the elephants are trained to pose for the photos - again very uncomfortable) It would be nice if the park allowed you to tour the forest without having to ride the elephants at the very least for those that don’t feel comfortable with it, and to actually have some elephants in the rest area to demonstrate they aren’t working all day with people on their backs. There’s a bridge going across the empty rest pens - if the free roam area exists surely the bridge can go across here so we can see this is the case. We actually toured the park twice as it was so short we were convinced we missed something. But no… don’t waste your day or money on the ticket - make a donation instead. I think the park owners need to be less concerned about cashing in on all the add ons and exploiting the elephants, I’m not sure the welfare of these elephants is at the heart of this park. The owners should be ashamed.

Boring experiences and very overpriced. The elephants seem happy there and the complex is nice for a walk.

This was our 2nd time staying at the elephant park. The stay was great and we enjoyed dinner outside, next to the elephants. The staff are very good with a camera and helpful with everything

It is cruel to have tourists ride the elephants. Their bodies are not designed to carry weight on their backs. This is pure exploitation for profits.

A very cool place, even though it's a little deep, you can really enjoy the atmosphere in the forest with the elephants. You will also be guided by experienced instructors. Here you can spend your time with your family.

This is a themed peak dedicated to elephants, and you can ride an elephant, feed it, take photos, touch it, eat a meal, and then leave for a maximum of 4 hours. It's a half-day trip, so if you're only an adult, it's better to plan another half-day.

I didn't stay there so I don't know about the rooms.

My aforemost concern about the Elephant Safari Park Lodge Bali is the misleading "elephant swimming". It felt more like an "elephant toilet swim", given the poor water quality riddled with elephant waste. This was not just unpleasant, but potentially hazardous, and I was greatly disappointed that guests weren't informed about this upfront. Apart from this, the prices felt high for Bali standards and, while the safari was a nice touch, our guide seemed more focused on tips than providing an informative experience. Overall, I advise caution, especially regarding the "shower".

A bit pricy, purpose seems to be making money by exploiting elephants rather than protecting them. Still good to do

Wonderful setting, with value for your money.
We had two rooms at the end of the resort, with some noice from airconditioning, not much, but sensitive ears should avoid those.
Evening dinner between the palm trees was lovely, and of good quality.
I had dubbele glazed chicken which was excellent.
Breakfast is buffet style. There is their working point. Coffee not so great, bread was old, they had to bring in new.
In the morning we did the wash and bath, great to do.buy the ticket at the resort. Much cheaper than online.

Wine is too expensive, and Balinese wine not anything to look foreword too. I think this is a hotel thing, since in good outside restaurants the wine is 50% cheaper, even the good Italian and French wines.

This was such a great experience. We loved every minute of it bathing and swimming with the elephants. You could see the keepers took great care in the elephants and had a wonderful bond with them.

While place looks nice we didn't entirely believe elephants were truly rescued. As well washing an elephant is just 1: 1 time with the animal. Probably not worth it. Swimming takes place in a medium size pool full of elephant poo. And you have to ride an elephant, we skipped ours. All in all it was great to see and feed an elephant. But washing and bathing is not worth it. We will think twice next time if we want to visit and support similar place.

One of the.most relaxing places in Bali. Do yourself a favour and grab a drink and find a spot on the day beds to watch the elephants swim, there's nothing.like it.

These elephants are rescued from poachers and farmers who try to poison them as a.means to protect their crop. Many other "sanctuaries" have actually trapped and transferred, rather than rescued. Thete are a few sanctuaries so It's worth researching which you go to as your money might not be going to good hands.

Beautiful place to see elephants and interact with them. They are gorgeous creatures and seem to be well taken care of here. Very fun for the family and the park is beautiful. We did not stay at the lodge but simply went to see and feed the elephants

Great place to go to visit elephants. I didn’t go on the elephant ride or I didn’t swim with them. But I still enjoyed myself. If you do go swimming.bring extra clothes. We took plenty of pictures without purchasing anything but admission.

My wife and I stayed at the lodge for our honeymoon a total of 5 days. The staff provided amazing service meeting all of our needs. The elephants were beautiful and seemed so happy eating food all day and night. Mason's elephant park and lodge really made our honeymoon amazing and unforgettable. I highly recommend you come and stay at the lodge.
