Dive Concepts Amed

We did our Open Water with Dive Concepts and couldn't be happier! They were very flexible and understanding, and let us postpone the date for free when we had congestion and couldn't dive. Shoutout to Anik in the Amed office who organised all our admin and was very helpful and helped us arrange transport too. We had Elisa for our dive master and she was amazing, taught in a fun and easygoing way, and we felt confident in the water quickly thanks to her. Such a great experience. And super budget friendly, great value all over. 100% recommend.

The diving was very cheap but still well managed. Al was out divemaster and he showed us all the good stuffs.

I took my open water diploma with Andrew and it was really great!
I was very apprehensive, he was able to help me and give me confidence. He takes the time to explain everything correctly, to repeat if necessary. I had two great days, we were a group of only 3 students which is great for learning.

Best customer service I've ever encountered.

Did my refresh, my advanced, and two specialities. Nitrox diving is free. The 40-meter deep dive site is beautiful. The nearby wrecks are awesome and their price is really good. Some of the dive sites are the best I've ever encountered.

Even better, my phone broke unrelated to the diving, the manager Kevin (<3) just handed me one of his phones to read the study materials for my speciality and my instructor hung around to let me do my exam later during the day. So nice of them!

For reference, they have an office in Amed but their actual dive site is in Tulamben. Amed is nicer to stay at and they arrange shuttles for you every day before your dive and after your dive. Really great diving centre!

We had our baptism with Vincent. Very clear explanations and we felt safe throughout both dives.
Small downside concerning our instructor who was very tired of his work, who did not convey his passion to us and completed the two dives well.
Hoping he just got out of bed on the wrong foot today.

Very competitiv prices. The cheapest on the islands. Sadly i had a defect BCD for the first 2 dives which self inflated. Becuse i am a beginner, it took some time to realise what the problem is and the dives were very frustrating.
They fixed the BCD for the next day and the next 3 dives.
The people were always stressed until we get into the water, this was not helpfull for me as a beginner to feel safe.
We had a cool guide who showed us all the secret spots on the dive sites.

Absolutely phenomenal safety standards. Putting customer safety above profit. I described my travel plans to Dive Concepts and they immediately informed me about the risks of staying high-altitude and diving, potentially causing decompression sickness. Will definitely book with them again the next time I am in Bali due to their level of care as someone new to diving.

What a wonderful place. Everything is very well organised and prepeared. The staff is also very helpful and friendly and our instructor Rifky was honestly the best instructor I could have asked for. The way he explained everything was good and he was very patient and kind. I normally don't do recommondations but this time I can only strongly recommend this place.

Would definitely recommend this place, very relaxed atmosphere, knowledgeable guides and cheapest place around. You can also book dives in Tulamben (most likely you will want to dive the liberty wreck) and they will help you will transport (free from nearby hotels if you are diving several dives)

Valentina who works in the shop is superb, very knowledgeable on all things diving and freediving related so just ask any questions whether you have 1000 dives or just starting out.

I won't talk about the diving experience here because I just wanted to buy tickets for the Gili islands.

First you have to know that you won't find any peer in Amed, and you will have to enter the boat barefeet. People will carry your luggages onboard. The boat is clean and with no air conditioner. But a bad surprise awaits you in Gili Air island: first, the boat won't go to the peer of the island. May be because the boat owners dont want to pay for it, may be because they are too lazy. The lattest seems to be the most reasonable explanation, because the boat will land on a beach with the bow first making it impossible for people to go out easily. To go out of the boat, the crew will have the clients to walk along a 1 inches large ledge (I'm not joking, it's 1 inch only) for 10 meters, and then JUMP in few centimeters of water there. No need to say that a disabled, old, or young person, or even someone with large feet, won't be able to do this and probably fall. The water here is up to the waist, so just say bye bye to all your stuff if you have anything fixed at your belt. The exercice is kinda dangerous, and by all means stupid. Of course nobody at Dive concept ever told anything about it just you will have to "wet your feet a bit". By the way, nothing Amed really worth the visit, it's just the shortest way to go to gili but don't bother with it: just go to the East of kuta and take a 4 hours long trip to gili air with a great and big boat that will put you right in the port in a climatized boat.
