Dd Barber Bali 3

One of the most bizarre experiences I’ve ever had at a barber/hair salon. I arrived at 7pm yesterday Tuesday 12/19, overhead lights were off, only dim yellow lights were on. The sign said it was open so I poked my head in and saw a guy lying down on one of the hair washing beds watChing a video on his phone and he looked really confused when he saw me. Took him several moments to answer my question “are you still open? ”. Finally he responded and said he was still open, got off the bed and turned on the bright overhead lights. I sat on the chair but he went over to the desk in the corner of the room and stood there for a minute on his phone muttering under his breath (I figured he was sending a voice message). Then he came back and put the apron on me and picked up the buzzer and suddenly remembered that he hadn’t asked what haircut I wanted yet. I told him a simple haircut, just clean up my medium fade and leave my top long. I just got my hair cut 2 weeks ago so it really didn’t need much, usually takes 15 minutes tops for a barber to clean my fade. But he spent 60 minutes on my hair, ONE WHOLE HOUR, and the weirdest thing was he kept picking up the same 3 razors and going over and over and over the same spots. He wasn’t even cutting any hair during the last 40 minutes, like I could tell from the sound of the razor that it wasn’t cutting anything, but for some reason he was obsessively running the razors over and over the same spots he’d already cut. He asked me weird questions like if why am I woman wanting a “man’s cut”, what am I doing after the haircut, do I smoke, do I drink, am I married. He’s supposed to close at 8pm and it was 8: 10pm and he was still cutting my hair. I almost called my friend for help but finally FINALLY he let me go. My friend took a picture of my hair after and I see the fade in the back is horrible, it’s not a fade, you can see very distinct layers and this bald line which is where he was cutting repetitively. I think he was on something… he’s not the guy in the photos on maps, was another person but the management should definitely do something about his behavior! It was so uncomfortable and felt unsafe at times.

I visited this barber shop a little over two weeks ago. To say I've been displeased with my haircut is an understatement. There was a language barrier which was extremely problematic but, that aside, the service I received was still notably poor. The barber gave me a faux hawk of some kind on the back of my head which was completely unsolicited. In addition, there were stray hairs and completely missed sections all over my head. I explicitly asked him to use scissors but he still used trimmers anyway. When shaving my neck, he nicked me badly. I finally got a corrective cut today to fix the problems I had with this cut. If you're a foreigner, look elsewhere where you can be more clear about what you want. I take blame for not going elsewhere when it was clear we couldn't communicate but that still doesn't excuse leaving sections uncut or jabbing my neck in a shave.

This is the first time I have gotten a haircut that can fit a tail of my hair, thank you ddbabershop next time I'll be there again
