Bali Asli Restaurant

Way too overpriced, how can you ask in Bali for two Nasi Campur and two lemonade drinks 600.000+. The taste is also for ‘tourists’, nothing was spicy, basic taste. The view and place are by the way really nice but the prices are ridiculous that it feels like a scam. Because of the price I will definitely not recommend this place. There are many other places with even better food for reasonable prices.

We massively enjoyed a day in the life of a Balinese lady as an activity for my yoga retreat attendees. Ayu our guide at the market and chef for the day was a delight! Knowledgeable, charming, professional. The food she helped us cook was amazingly tasty, healthy and authentic. We loved Bali Asli! Can’t wait to come back. The restaurant itself and location is stunning.

An absolute must visit! Everything about Bali Asli is a glimpse into authentic Bali. This truely is a special place. The incredible location, wonderful staff and fabulous food resides in my memory and I'm already planning my next return. Highly recommended.

The scenery is so beautiful here. Drink is fair price. Food looks nice may try next time. The local food teaching class is 1.2m rp /person.

After making some stops at Tirta Gangga and Pura Lempuyang, we came here for lunch. It was one of my favorite experiences in Bali. Everything was perfect, the view, the food, the service… even the bathrooms were beautiful, I did my business in an open air toilet overlooking the mountains with some kind of mist/smoke (?) wafting in, and cloth hand towels are provided. I’ve been to Bali many times and this was an experience I won’t forget and will definitely come here again on the next trip. Also, get the the lemongrass punch and the set meal that gives you a little bit of everything to try.

Since this place is so remote, most people came with a driver, as did we. I didn’t love that there’s a separate bathroom and seating area for the drivers, it felt a little bit too elitist. Of note, the meal for the drivers is provided for free which is really nice.

The food is good is great and the staff is very nice and rhe view is just wow. The experience is interesting because you can try multiple dishes. The price was 40$ for 2 persons which is way above average.

We decided to visit here due to recommendations in the past and also previewing for some family who are visiting soon and want to experience real Balinese cuisine.

The atmosphere very authentic.
The drinks whether alcoholic or non have been planned with using natural ingredients Bali has to offer besides the normal beers wines etc as well.
The food both with taste and presentation exceptionally unique.
In closing the view even from the WC is one to remember with our sleeping giant Gunung Agung sitting majestically in the background.
They have two variations of menu. One to suit lunch and the other for afternoon tea. Note they are not open for evening meals.
Cooking schools are available also.
We highly recommend Bali Asli and thank the team and management and owners for an extremely affordable authentic Bali lunch we will remember.

The best Balinese specialty restaurant we have tasted during our vacation. Worth a detour as they say in the famous Guide.

Great view of the rice fields and mountain when it isn’t hidden behind the clouds, clean and nicely decorated restaurant with beautiful local food.

The price was a lot more expensive than a lot of Indonesian places, but it’s more of an upmarket special place which is still reasonable by foreign prices even though it’s in the middle of countryside and there aren’t many other things around it.

I had the $165,000 rp meal which allowed me to choose from four different Balinese dishes. The starter is a selection of three different types of sambal with peanuts and crackers. I would never have though of eating those crackers and sambal together and not as a accompaniment to other dishes but it works on its own. The ginger and banana flower sambal was delicious and unique.

I also had a spicy snake fruit drink which was included in the price and a ginger margarita cocktail made with arak (local coconut liquor).

For the main my four choices were chicken curry, steamed spices mushrooms in banana leaves, pork sate, and coconut and bamboo shoot salad. The pork date serving was small but well cooked and tender. The chicken curry was fragrant and delicately spiced. Both of the vegetable dishes made good sides. For the price I think I would have liked a bit more meat with the sate, but that was my only complaint.

This restaurant is fantastic. It is beautifully decorated, the food is delicious, the staff is kind and fantastic and it has a wonderful view.

A must try! Fresh grown ingredients from their own garden cooked beautifully with gorgeous flavours. Served by lovely staff with the stunning views of rice fields and Mount Agung
