Ashoka Tree Resort Ubud

Worst hotel. No staff present in premises. Bad service all the time. No proper food present in the hotel. Location was also very poor. No facilities were provided to guests. They served fixed two pieces of fruit and spring roll in breakfast and nothing extra served food. Total waste of money. Our duration of stay was horrible. Recommending not to stay here anytime. Most rubbish out of all the hotels ever seen till date.

Last minute booking, sekitar jam 6 dan sampai sana jam 8 malam. Stafnya ramah, kamarnya juga keren (dapat kamar di atas karena di upgrade) suasananya tenang, semoga tahun depan bisa kesini lagi thank you team!

Very unhygienic. Insects everywhere, mediocre service. We cannot even sit outside when it gets dark due to the sheer number of insects. The towels were full of holes and stains.

After the hustle of Ubud this hotel was a wonderful relief. Set in quiet surroundings. Our room had a balcony overlooking the pool. The room had tea and coffee making facilties, along with the bottled water. The room was very clean. The air con was fantastic. The bathroom was a great size with toiletries. All the staff from the minute we arrived to leaving were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The shuttle into Ubud was great. Special thanks to Wiri and especially Dharma. Would definitely visit again.

The hotel is situated in the deep village. We decided to stay here in 1BR Pool Villa for 2 days. This is my real experience

Talking about the inclusive breakfast, it's very limited for example - you can only get 1 toast in 1 omlete which is very less. Fruit plate will only give u 3 slices of 3 different fruits. If asked butter they don't have or even honey for cornflakes they don't have. The juice is given in a small glass which u can only get once. Only 1 serving offered.

Talking about the cleanliness - We asked to clean the room the next day assuming all the bedsheets will be changed and cleaned I was amused to see that they dint even change the bedsheets. They don't give extra towels for the pool and no bathrobes, shampoo wasn't refilled either.

Dinning experience - Very limited menu. Half of the things they don't have and you have to order 2 hours before to get any food.

Overall Experience- Bad experience!
The staff doesn't treat guest well and they are always trying to do cost cutting on everything we ask them for. Hoping they improve or else 1 or 2 families that I see around will also stop coming here.

Menginap disini semalam dengan 2 orang dewasa dan 1 baby < 1 thn. Awal datang gerbang ditutup setengah, sudah diklakson tp tdk ada yg bantu buka gerbang. Stafnya ramah dan sopan. Suasananya asri dan sepi, cukup enak buat yang ingin healing. Kamarnya bersih dan sesuai dengan harganya. Cuman pas malam sekitar jam 10 ada tlp masuk jd agak ganggu istirahat, dan ada suara di atap kamar, mungkin tikus. Terimakasih…

The hotel is located in an excellent location. Very quiet and peaceful. The petrol station is only 10 min bike ride and there are nearby shops. The hotel resort is filled with nature and trees. The rooms and pool is excellent. We stayed in garden view deluxe room and it had huge bathtub and big balcony. The bed was very comfortable. The staffs are very friendly and hospitable. They accommodated changes in our breakfast and helped us in bike rental and laundry contacts. They suggested good places to visit. They had reopened the hotel just 2 months back so the kitchen and spa are not functional. Hopefully it will be done soon when many people come to stay. Loved the stay here. Hopefully will comeback if we get a chance.

Great place and people are friendly, however the breakfast is a joke two eggs, one chicken sausage and 4 small slices of whatever’s fruit they’re serving. I hope they improve it.

This was the most beautiful experience with a very warm hearted staff, excellent room service. Scrumptious breakfast which was as good as a 5 star service and presentation. Beautiful rooms and views. Free shuttle to city available on demand, even though may feel remote yet the beauty of this place is its serenity ️

Saya booking untuk stay tanggal 18 Mar via Online Travel Agent TRAVELOKA dimana disitu hotel dapat di booked maka dari itu sya booking 2 kamar karena mengajak keluarga, namun betapa surprisenya saya ketika sampai disana hotel ini TUTUP! Tdak ada orang satupin dan gerbang terkunci dgn rapat kaki bel, kami klakson tidak ada satupun orang yg keluar, seketika keluara kecewa begitupin saya, kok bisa kamar hotelnya masih dijual? !

The good:
Lost in nature with amazing views of the forest from the restaurant.
Staff friendly not sure how genuinely though.

The bad:
Old, tired and neglected.
The room that we were given on arrival stank like mold. The sheets and pillow cases smelled really bad too. We asked for another room and were taken to one. Same issue. We were then taken to a 3rd room which was not great either but better than the first 2 so we took it.
Mold was still very present everywhere, we could smell it in the room and see it on the walls. As I am writing this review, my partner and I are both stuck with sore throats and itchy noses surely from breathing in mold spores.
No buffet breakfast, only a la carte and food just ok with tiny portions.
Our balcony light did not turn off and kept the room very bright at night. We complained to reception on leaving one morning and they said that it was fixed when we came back. It wasn't. We complained again and we were told to take out the key card from the power thing on the wall, which would then kill power to our whole room, of course we refused. They then sent "the engineering team" as they called it to our room. Those guys spent half an hour trying to turn the bloody thing off but couldn't, so they ended up just disconnecting the light.
Food and drinks from the restaurant are way overpriced for Bali and far from great.
While staff seemed nice and smiling it was kind of obvious that they would just tell you what you want to hear to get rid of you.
We took the hotel shuttle to go to Ubud centre once and because it was not during their scheduled time we were asked to pay, which is fair enough. The price is normally 80k for the whole ubud area as per their own website but we were asked to pay 100k because we were not going to their designated drop off point (normally for the free shuttle drop off/pick-up).
While people were at the pool having drinks and food, they just started fumigating the whole hotel with no warning or anything. Just breath in the toxic smoke!

Love this place so much. The hospitality was really nice and homey. Breakfast nya set menu, kurang variatif. Pool ada 2, depan deket lobby. Belakangan dgn view pohon2 sungai. Udara sejuk. Fasilitas lengkap. Lokasi agak susah ditemukan. Krn masuk gang kecil. Bus ga bisa masuk, harus pake shuttle car

Friendly staff, but service levels were a bit inconsistent. Location is great, but resort is showing age, still a lot well maintained! Breakfast has a set menu, so not much can be done about an extra portion or customization. Resort provides shuttle service to the city centre, needs prior booking.

The hotel is in the most beautiful grounds. It is very peaceful and also fairly near to the busier life of central Ubud. All staff are extremely friendly and accommodating, I highly recommend staying here. I was sad to leave.

Nice spacious room and bathroom, but had bad experience on shuttle service, bad communication abd the driver whom on night shift on 4th October at 21.00 was impolite, reluctant to communicate and very disgrace attitude. Need to train intensively on staff at all levels of departments. Also wifi is very slow, upgrading required.

Etwas abgelegen, dafür Ruhe und grünes Umfeld. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich immer hilfsbereit und sprechen ganz gut englisch. Wir hatten einen Bungalow mit eigenem Pool, sehr zu empfehlen! Das Essen im Restaurant ist ganz Ok, nur zu teuer und ein wenig europäisch angehaucht, nicht identic Indonesian. Das Frühstück ist Hammer, besonders am eigen Pool, was wir jeden Morgen gemacht haben. Sehr zu empfehlen. Um zurück ins Hotel zu kommen unbedingt die bluebird app nutzen, sonst zahlt ihr Mondpreise.

Very good resort with Indian breakfast in the morning. I am from south India, the western and Indonesian dishes I tasted here are okay to eat and not too bad. It has two swimming pool. Accessible to all places in Ubud Area. People are friendly and helpful for arranging tours. I rate 5 star considering the price, Indian and western food, Bike rental, Airport pickup / drop.

Room: we stayed at the pool villa, the bedroom and bathroom are huge.pool is good for short lap.there is a living area upstairs with daybed and bean bag to relax and enjoy Ubud view.

Breakfast: good options available.good taste.they could do better with condiments such as salt and pepper on the table.restaurant had a really good view.but you can enjoy floating breakfast as well at your private pool on surcharge.

Lunch/Dinner: they offer wide range of choices, good taste.but again, they could do better with condiments like salt, pepper, chips, ketchup, sauces.

Spa: i tried the hot stone massage.the price is such a bargain and the massage was really really good.the therapist was able to perform just the right pressure to make me feel good.i definitely recommend the Spa.

The surroundings and gardens of the resort were clean and tidy. The food was also lovely and well cooked. They have a set menu for breakfast which is part of the cost of your stay with several varieties on the menu however the menu was set so unable to ask for an extra piece of toast or fruit even if wanting to pay for it. If asking for an extra fruit juice, we found the second juice was often watered down. Coffee was very thick and was not filtered through properly. Seemed to be more about cost saving than meeting the needs of the customer. Towards the end of our stay we ended up having breakfast in the town of Ubud rather than the resort. Basic room cleaning occurred but often we had to ask for clean towels or to have our sheets changed. The air conditioning in the villa did not work very well, was still quite warm at night even when having it as low as we can. My partner and I would prefer to go elsewhere next time we return to Bali.
